"Clifford!" The coach called out. Me and Mikey looked over at Lauren, she was trying to get into the football team.

(Soccer. Football in Australia.)

Her face lit up and she joined the other kids on the field.

I clapped and Mikey cheered. "Dad! You're embarrassing her!" Mikayla laughed and sat him down. "Can't I cheer for my baby girl?" He asked.

"A bald man cheering is...." She burst out laughing. "I am not bald!" He argued. "Okay you're not, but it's going towards that."

He glared at her and she took her phone out. I could read her screen. I don't wanna be nosy but...

Chase🐶: C'mon! You're just a little bit away!

Me: Yeah okay. 😳

I quickly turned away so she didn't catch me. "Mum, did you know that Hayden is also here with her family? Can I go-"

"Yes, hun." I nodded.

"I didn't even finish.... I was gonna say, can I go with Chase..." She dragged out the sentence.

"Yeah go-"

"Were you reading our texts?" She asked. "No." I said quickly. "Hmm. Okay I'll catch up with you guys later." She told us and waved and walked away.

"I swear they're gonna end up together." I told Mikey.

"Um no." He said.

"What?" I laughed.

"My baby girl is not gonna end up with Chasen Lucas Hood. That's my best mate. That would be awkward. Eww no." He rambled. I rolled my eyes.

"Chase is a good boy, we both know that." I told him. "Plus, she won't-"

"Do NOT finish that sentence Briana." He glared at me. "Okay. I won't. But I bet half of your Pokemon card collection."

"So you're saying that if they DO end up together, I'll have to give you half of my collection and if they DON'T, you'll give me yours?" He asked and I nodded. He hesitated but gave in.

"Okay. I'm only doing this because I know I'm right and I really need that damn card!" He nodded. "Okay. May the best Clifford win." I told him.

After the football tryouts, we got pizza for 'celebration', I'm pretty sure it was because Mikey was hungry, but he also got us ice cream. I looked over at Mikayla and she was giggling while typing and reading.

"Dad! Can you believe I made it?" Lauren clapped excitedly. "Yes. Of course I can. You're a Clifford, you'll make it anywhere."

"She's daddy's favorite. He's saved for Harvard." I giggled.

"He knows she'll make it." Mikayla put her phone down and put her hand over her mouth to make it sound like in the song. "So now you're putting your phone down?" Mike quirked an eyebrow.

"Uh yeah?" She said sounding like a question. "Who, is more important than this?" I laughed. "Nobody." She mumbled and looked down and started eating.

"Is it that boy from the bleachers?"

"Which one?" She asked. "The blonde one."

"No! Eww." She rolled her eyes. "So... The special brunette?" Mikey asked.

Her face flushed. "There were many brunettes out there!" Lauren changed the subject. We both shrugged and nodded. After we finished, we went to the movie theatre to watch a movie.

"MUM!" Lauren yelled from her room. I quickly ran upstairs and almost knocked down the door. "Yes?!" I asked worriedly and out of breath.

"Oh I'm sorry... I was just gonna ask you to help me pick out some stuff..." She said shyly. I smiled and walked over to her and tucked a loose strand of hair underneath her ear.

"Of course I will."

Life at the Clifford's house is pretty calm in my opinion.

I don't know if I will go or not, but I'm thinking on going to the Fifth Harmony concert in August. I don't know yet. I want to tbh 😫
