Chapter 10 - The Truth

Adam's POV

I lean on the opposite side of where my office window is , wherein Alesa and Catherine where inside.

We postponed our vacation.

So we just got home since the incident happened.

I see Alesa caressing the black hair of Catherine gently as poor Catherine was lying on the lap of Alesa , sleeping thankfully.

I lean off the wall and turn away only to pause and punch my left fist on the wall , "Damn it..!" , I growled.

"Hey boss.."

I look up only to see Ethan looking at me carefully as he approaches me , "How's little Cathy?" , he asked.

Fixing my glasses , I said , "Calmed down , for now." , and look down on the ground , silence thick in the air.

'It's time they know the truth. It's been a month now. So I know they'll understand.'

I glared at the floor as my hands turn into fists while I say lowly and seriously , "Ethan , call the other crew. It's about time you guys know about it." , as I pass by him and walks towards the area where we record our skits.

I sat down on the couch , my elbows on my knees as I clasp my hands together and rest my chin on them.

After a minute or two , the whole crew was here .

I look up at them and sigh , standing up , "It's about time you guys know something which I and Alesa have been keeping it a secret." , I started looking at all of them , especially at Max since him and Catherine are very close.

"Just get to the point , Adam." , Max growled inpatiently as Ross and Red tries to calm him down.

I understand why he's acting like that.

And I'm not going to complain or stop him on whatever he is going to do next.

I took in a deep breath and said , "Catherine , is an orphan."

I saw similar shocked faces---

*SMACK!

I lie on the carpeted floor holding my nose as Ethan , Barney , and Emma helped me up.

"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL US SOONER , HUH?!"

I hear Max shout as he was being held back by Red and Ross along with Tim-Tim.

I stood up and sniffed a bit then glared at him , "Catherine told me not tell you guys , yet--!"

"WELL THEN SCREW IT! WE THOUGHT SHE TRUSTED US! I THOUGHT SHE TRUSTED ME! " , Max screamed as I shake my head controlling my anger.

"You don't understand Max---!"

"OH I PERFECTLY UNDERSTAND! I UNDERSTAND THAT SHE , THAT BRAT , DOESN'T TRUST US! RIGHT FROM THE VERY BEGINNING!"

My patience was wearing off thin just because of this.

"She does trust us Max! She just--!"

"SHE JUST WHAT ADAM?! SHE'S SCARED?! HUH?! IS THAT WHY?! IS SHE TOO MUCH OF A COWARD?! I THOUGHT SHE WAS DIFFERENT , ADAM! THAT---!"

That fucking is it.

I ran up at him and grabbed him by the collar and looked at him straight in the eyes .

"IT'S BECAUSE SHE HAS A HEAD TRAUMA!" , that made him shut up and widen his eyes , "And you know where she got it , huh Max?! She got it because she saw her parents die right in front of her fucking innocent eyes!
