The next week was quiet. Kisshu wasn't to be seen nor heard from and my small bruises healed pretty quickly. The Cafe wasn't too busy but still had quite a few customers. It was a relaxing week and I was starting to get used to my new and busy routine.
The only thing that wasn't fun at the Cafe was Ryou. He completely shut me out of his life after we had conversed last but I hated to remember that conversation. He acted as though where ever I was and whichever seat I was sitting in, I wasn't there and the seat was empty. It started to get on my nerves and Lettuce offered for me to take a short break a couple of times because of my short temper with some customer's.
‘Don't worry about him,’ Keiichiro told me after the end of a shift. ‘Just keep living your life around him. He'll talk to you eventually.’
‘I don't care if he ever talks to me again,’ I confessed. ‘He's getting in the way of my work and makes me cr – ‘ I stopped in the middle and cleared my throat, hoping he hadn’t figured out what I was about to say.
‘What was that?’ asked Keiichiro.
‘Never mind. See you tomorrow.’ I said, wishing I didn't have a shift every day for the next week.
‘What were you guys talking about?’ asked Ichigo, meeting me by the doors of the Café.
‘Oh, nothing. Let's go,’ I said, staring at Ryou as he stared back with cold eyes. When Ichigo and I exited the shop and started our way home, I said cheekily, ‘So when's your next date with Aoyama-kun?’
‘How do you know about him?’
‘Because you once said that you were late to a date with ‘Aoyama-kun’ and I bumped into him that next day after work. He's very cute.’ I smiled, nudging Ichigo in saying what a catch he was.
‘Yes, he is. But don't go getting any ideas, Missy!’ Ichigo joked. ‘He's my boyfriend. So how come I haven't seen you in school before?’
‘Oh, I think you've seen me but you haven't noticed me.’
‘You're probably right. There's been so much on my mind since the Mew Mew thing started.’
‘Yeah, I know. I only found out I was a Mew a week ago and I'm already finding it stressful. I just wonder what will happen to us when we grow up and walk our own paths.’
‘We'll still be together but not all of us at the same time. I was talking to Keiichiro a couple days ago about there being more Mews than we think. They could be everywhere and we just don't know it, yet. All those unknown people with all those powers!’
‘Well I've already found you guys another one; Luka! And Kisshu got to her first so what if he's figured out there might be more and on the look for them?’
‘You could be on to something there, Panda,’ she said thoughtfully. ‘We haven't seen him in a whole week.’
‘It's been good though. I needed a rest for my bruises to heal. Well, I still had to work but you know what I mean.’ I smiled.
We had walked all the way to Ichigo's house without realizing it, as we were sucked in by our growing conversation.
‘Would you like to come in?’ Ichigo offered after we stopped ten feet in front of her house.
‘Uhh, I should probably call my mum to tell her where I am,’ I said, getting out my phone.
Ichigo welcomed me with open arms into her home but I felt a little strange entering a family’s home without the parent’s knowing it.
