It's been a week since Lily's been visiting. Shane and I were in the kitchen when we heard "Mommy, Daddy," Alex said as she came running down the steps with Lily right behind her. "What baby doll?" Shane asked. She looked at Lily and they both grinned, "Can we go to the movies?" Lily asked excitedly. Shane chuckled and looked at me, "I don't see why not," I said. Lily and Alex cheered. "Y'all sit down and eat some lunch then we'll go," I said. They sat down at the table and Shane brought them their plates. "Thank you Uncle Shane," Lily said. I grabbed mine and Shane's plate and we sat down with them. We ate quietly with a little bit of small talk.
---
We arrived at the movie theatre, "What do y'all wanna see?" Shane asked. "Lily, let's watch The Jungle Book!" Alex said excitedly. "Yes, I've wanted to see it for awhile now," Lily said. We went into the theatre to wait for the movie to start and Alex insisted on where we were gonna sit. Shane and I were next to each other, Lily was closest to the aisle, and Alex was between Lily and I.

---

About half way through the movie Alex tapped my arm and whispered, "Daddy's sleeping." I looked over at Shane and sure enough he was asleep. I got Lily and Alex's attention, "Watch this." I reached over and slapped Shane's stomach and he woke up and looked around. "Ow, what was that for?" He whispered. "You were asleep," I whispered back. Alex got out of her seat and climbed up into Shane's lap. After the movie we took the girls to get ice cream and then went to the park. As the girls were playing Shane and I talked, "How's work been going baby?" I asked. Shane sighed and looked over at me, "To be honest, it's stressful right now," He replied. "You know I am proud of you. You have a stressful day at work and you come home and act like it wasn't," I smiled at him. "That's because I love coming home to y'all," He said. I leaned over and kissed him.

An hour or so later we heard Alex scream, "Aunt Hannah, Uncle Shane!" Lily yelled. We got up and ran over to them, "Daddy my arm hurts!" Alex cried. Alex had fallen from the monkey bars. "Aunt Hannah, I'm so sorry. I should have watched her more closely," Lilly said as she started to cry. "Lily, it's not your fault. Shane and I don't blame you," I said as I pulled her into a hug. We got into the car and took Alex to the hospital.

---

They took X-rays of her arm and she has a broken wrist. We were in the ER room with her and Alex was laying on the bed watching cartoons while we waited for the doctor. "Baby doll, are you hurting?" Shane asked. Alex shook her head no and rubbed her eyes, "Alex if you're sleepy, you can take a nap," I said. It was like she was waiting for me to tell her that because she was out almost instantly. The doctor came back in some time later to put the cast on Alex's arm. "Alex, baby, wake up," I said. The doctor spoke, "Hi Alex, what color would you want your cast to be?" Alex mumbled, "Purple," The doctor grinned and told the nurse to go get the purple wrap. When she returned, they put the cast on Alex and gave us a prescription for her medicine. "You're all good to go, Alex," the doctor said. Alex whimpered, "Daddy," Shane walked over and picked her up and cradled her in his arms. I wrapped my arm around Lily's shoulders and we left the hospital.

---

It was late in the afternoon when we got home, I took Alex upstairs to help her change into some pajamas while Lily and Shane cooked supper. We went back downstairs and I laid Alex on the couch with her favorite blanket and she watched cartoons. Lily was still quiet while helping Shane, "Lily, are you okay?" He asked. She shook her head yes. "Lily we aren't mad at your and we don't blame you," I said. Shane looked at me then at Lily. "It was an accident, it's not your fault, "Shane said. Lily hugged him and said, "Okay, I just didn't want y'all to be mad at me." I smiled, "Never." They finished up supper and Shane told Lily to go get Alex. A few minutes they returned and we sat down at the table to eat dinner. After dinner I put Alex to bed after her telling Shane and Lily good night and giving them both a kiss. "Good night mommy," Alex said. "Good night baby girl," I said as I kissed her forehead and left her room.
