Steph's POV
As I stared directly into James' dark chocolate eyes, I could feel small sparks where ever our body touched. It sent an involuntary cold but none the less, comforting shiver down my spine.
As soon as the scolding hot white sparks, that emitted from our touching bodies errupted. It was abruptly stopped, as I was ripped away from him. I was pulled off him by Jack that looked red in the face - he was mad.
"What the fuck do you think your doing? You almost injured my girlfriend with that ape likely body of yours, Snow" James didn't say anything back to Jack , hell he didn't even have a snarky comment. This was not like him all James did was stand up and brush himself off, before turning to us then walked away.
The black tuxedo he wore did justice to his ripped body, as it complimented everything about his dark personality. As he stucked one of his hands in his slacks and walked deeper into the dark, cold night. But before he could become one with shadows of the night's creatures. James slowly turned back to us and his eyes were now black slots - they were like empty sockets of void staring into one's soul. What even worst was that he focused those void fill eyes on me.
Then they drifted to the lower part of me, where my hand laid absentmindedly on my small bump. I rushed to remove my hand from my belly, in an attempt to play off what he thought he saw. As a ghost of a smile spread across his face and just like that he turned around, back facing me and disappeared into the darkness - he is exactly what I thought he is...a devil.
He couldnt possibly know that I am? Ofcourse he doesn't know that. My mind reassured me of this crazy assumption. But still why would he be looking at me like that, like...he loves me?
"Steph? Are you alright? That asshole didn't hurt you did he?" I was brought out of my trance by Jack as he fired questions after questions at me to know if I was alright. "Yes I am ok, there is no need for you to be worried about me" I told him so he could lay off with 20/20 questions. "What about the bun? Is the bun alright?" He said coming in front of me, so I would be focused on him.
"Yes the bun is ok!" I said frustrated. But then it click to me, why would he be asking about a bun? What does he mean by bun? I was so confused by my inner monologue that I never notice I voice my curiosity.
"You know the bun that I said I need to pick for my mom...s-she called to tell me that. That...that she need me to buy on my way here, so she could make her favorite Italian dish she love back then." Jack said in one quick go that I found a little strange - that and how his eyes keep looking everywhere but at me. "But you didn't stop to by a bun on the way here or did you already bought it before you even picked me up?" Jack took a big gulp before opening his mouth again to answer me, but before he could the majestic doors of the restaurant swung open and out came a woman.
The woman, who opened the door was dressed in a grey chiffon half sleeve dress that had a deep V neck. That showed off her flawless neck, she looked to be in her late 30's. "Ah! Miah... there you are Jack, I almost thought you weren't ever going to show up and this beautiful girl beside you must be the lovely Stephanie-Ann I keep hearing you speak about." The woman spoke accent was so thick that you could tell she was born and raise in Italy. She came right up to me and engulfed me into a crushing bear hug, with her bouncy tendrils of hair covered my red ones. That's alot of hair.
