Sao sprints across the room and tackles Gavin, pinning him to the ground as I rush to check on Jade. She's doubled over, her breathing labored and a look of hurt registers on her face. I don't think the hurt is from being kneed in the stomach. It's from not being recognized by her own brother. "Are you okay?" I ask, already knowing the answer. Surprisingly, she nods, meaning she is okay, and that I should go help my boyfriend. I ask if she is sure and Jade nods and stands up, still clutching her gut. I look over at Sao and Gavin. Sao has Gavin pinned to the ground, using his hands and feet to try and keep Gavin from getting up.Gavin struggles as Sao yells at him.

"WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT? YOU COULD HAVE HURT HER! DO YOU HEAR ME? YOU COULD HAVE KILLED YOUR SISTER! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!" At this, Gavin stops struggling and the look of hatred leaves his face. I see why. The look of hate is now on his siblings face, written into her features. Jade has come over and is giving Gavin a steely look from over my shoulder. Her breath is still labored, but she looks as strong as ever.

"Jade." This is all Gavin can say before the whole left wall of our cell opens and again soldiers come in with guns pointing, sweeping the room for any act of defiance. Dedrick comes in, smiling, gesturing towards the soldiers.

"These men get the job done, don't they? Do they not? They do." Dedrick stops smiling and glares down at Sao, who is still sitting on top of Gavin. Gavin doesn't move, he just stares daggers into Dedricks eyes. "Get up," Dedrick commands. Sao takes his time, moving slowly. Sandstone notices this and yells, "I SAID, GET UP!" At this his boot comes up and clips Sao in the jaw, sending him sprawling.

"Sao!" I yell, and start to move over to him before Dedrick grabs me by the waist and throws me onto the ground. The air is knocked out of my lungs and you can hear the whoosh of the oxygen escaping me. He puts his foot on my chest and pushes, daring me to get up.

Out of the corner of my eye, I can see Sao sit up. He groans, looking dazed. His face is bloody, and he rubs it, getting the blood onto his hand. When he sees the crimson stain, his eyes snap open and he jumps up, startling Dedrick just enough for me to pick his foot off of me and roll to the side, jump to my feet and sprint over to Sao. Dedrick eyes me coolly as I do this, as if he wanted to see my reaction. I stare back at me and he watches me reach for Saos hand. He smiles and just barely jiggles his right hand and pulls out a gas mask.

"Night, night, kiddos." Dedrick grins and runs out of the room just as white smoke starts to billow out of the walls, ceiling, and floor.

A muffled hold your breath comes from somewhere, but its too late. Saos hand clamps over my nose, but I'm already a lost cause. Dedrick told the truth for once. They did sleep. I didn't.
