The expression on her face changes from realisation to shock- to dread so fast that I can hardly blink.
Why on earth is she staring at me like I'm an alien of some sort?
I wave my hand in front of her face to snap her out of whatever trance she is in. "Hey-ah, pabo! Do you know what time it is right now? My meeting is in half an hour and the one who's supposed to help me is still not fully awake. What a sight to behold."
Sae Ron gulps like a nervous kitten and my eyebrows crease. "Have you gone mute? Are you not gonna speak?"
"Aniya," she says in a hushed tone. "I'm just- um," she struggles with her words. "Ah, what happened last night?"
What is she talking about? After that bogus phone call from jamless hyung and our little banter, I don't remember anything significant happening. Then why is Sae Ron so worked up? She was even mumbling my name with her eyes closed when I walked over to her desk. Hearing Sae Ron call me Kookie again spawned mixed feelings in me. It felt as though we had never parted ways and she had never stopped calling me that. But simultaneously, the fact that she was whispering my name while she was asleep was like a splash of water to bring me back to reality. She'd never utter the word Kookie if she was wide awake. Like she's now.
The thought wipes out the tad bit satisfaction I was beginning to feel and I tear my gaze away from her innocent, black orbs. "Except for me working my ass off and you napping like a princess, nothing really happened."
She flinches slightly at the edge in my tone and apologizes, "Mianhe, I didn't realize when sleep came over me."
"It's alright. At least you finished marking the errors in the file. Otherwise I'd have had to do that myself too."
"Thank God," she sighs, regaining herself a little, but her eyes grow bigger when she suddenly realizes something. "Omo! Your meeting! Why didn't you wake me up earlier? Ottoke?! How will I get ready within such a short time?"
Because you looked exceedingly cute while you were sleeping? Because I couldn't move my eyes away from your slightly parted lips? Because I wanted to tuck the few strands of hair behind your ear that was falling on your face?
So many reasons not to stir your sleep and the one you're going to hear is.....
None of them.
"Sleepy head, instead of bombarding me with questions, don't you think you should go and wash your face first? If you want to accompany me to the meeting, you'd better fix that face of yours," I tease her.
"Excuse me?" She eyes me as if I had grown another head. "Jeon Jungkook, the oh-so-handsome CEO, why don't you go and fix that big nose of yours first?!"
All my eyes are holding at this point is amusement. I've seen her throw tantrums like this so many times in the past but even today, I can't help feeling puzzled. How anger can look cute on a girl is beyond me. Then again, maybe it's just Sae Ron.
She brushes past me, stomping off towards the opposite direction and the laughter that I was holding in, escapes my mouth. "You're going the wrong way," I mention and even with her back facing me, I can hear her mumbling to herself, "Aish! Just why am I such a pabo?"
Turning around, she heads straight for the washroom without sparing me a second glance. She's clearly embarrassed and that makes me chuckle again.
Just before going in, she turns to face me and sticks her tongue out.
And here I thought, she was embarrassed......

The conference room sucks at the moment. Why?
