§ Sae Ron §
"Sae Ron-ssi!" Soeun unnie lets out a squeal the moment she opens the door of her apartment and notices me. "Did you get the job?"
I hold up the kimichi fried rice I bought on my way here and she takes the hint instantly. "Oh my God, you got it!"
I smile at her excitement. "Yes, unnie, I did. Now, will you make me stand here all day? Won't you call me in?"
She pulls me in for a quick hug and says, "Mianhe, Sae Ron-ssi. I'm just really happy for you. Come in now. We need to celebrate."
She goes into the kitchen to pluck a plate for each of us while I settle myself down on the floor of her living room, unwrapping the packet of kimichi. My mind wanders to Kookie again. He had always been handsome, but with his hair brushed back and his sharpened facial features, he was looking drop dead gorgeous today.
One of the many reasons why I declined the offer of becoming his p.a. at first. I was afraid that instead of working, I might just bring myself some secondhand embarrassment by glancing at him every now and then.
Back in the office, I was reminded of the time when we were in middle school. We were both of the same height at that time. But look at him now, he's so much taller than me. I literally had to crane my head up while talking to him.
Soeun unnie returns with the plates and my mind diverts from him. "Here, let me serve it," she takes the box of rice from my hands. "Did you get caught in the rain? I was worried about you."
I scoff at the memory of my horrible experience. "Don't tell me, unnie. I swear I'm never going out without an umbrella again. I was drenched from head to toe. Thankfully, I got changed before coming to your place. Or else you would have had to see just how pathetic I looked."
She chuckles at my sour expression and passes me my plate. "But it all worked out in the end, didn't it? You got the job. That's all that matters."
"You're right," I reply. "But I was wondering, unnie, do you know someone named Jeon Jungkook by chance?"
"That CEO? Of course, I know. Why wouldn't I? Everyone knows him. He's like the center of gossip in every kitty party I attend," she says matter-of-factly.
"Really? He is that popular?" I ask, taking a spoonful of my rice.
"Yes, Sae Ron-ssi. Aside from the fact that he's really successful as a businessman at such a young age, he has also featured in a lot of magazines. And that's no surprise. He's incredibly hot."
I almost spit out the food in my mouth. "Unnie! What are you saying?! What about Jaerim oppa?"
She shrugs her shoulders. "What about him? Trust me, no girl would take a second look at her husband if she gets a guy like Jungkook."
My mouth hangs open at her words. Jaerim oppa really needs to do something about her. "Unnie," my voice drawls in exasperation. "He's like five-six years younger than you. How can you even think of him that way?"
"It's okay to fancy a hot guy, even if he's younger you know. And it's not like he'll become my lover if I just think of him. I'm stuck with your oppa anyway."
"Who's stuck with whom?" A familiar voice speaks and both heads snap towards the doorstep to see Jaerim oppa standing there.
Soeun unnie bites her lip, figuring his husband might just have heard her complimenting another guy. The pissed off look on his face is not helping her either.
