[Beginning Notes:] Hello to you all! Thanks A MILLION for eighty three views. It means so much to me(:
Okay, so I have a few important points to make:
1. Yes, this update is three days early! This is because I will be playing in a tournament on Sunday and returning home late that night. My point: this is the update for the 22nd.
2. Super short chapter alert! I apologize, I don't know why I cut this one so short....
3. I don't think I will be updating for the week of the 29th because I will be out of town. And actually, I may be absent for a longer period of time. I'm not positive.
4. I'm starting a 15 Week Fairy Tail drawing challenge that will be updated (hopefully). The reason is because the drawings are already sketched before hand. Writing a whole (good quality) chapter while out of town and without my beloved laptop would be TORTURE. (You typing writers feel me.)
Sorry if the void updates disappoints anyone! I really do love you all and am so thankful for your support(;
On to Chapter 7 (which I have aptly dubbed a Bonus): When Friends Confide!
-
Levy pulled her knees to her chest, eyes conflicted.
The oversized shirt on her body was comforting to her skin, while the mug of hot chocolate in her small hands comforted her aching worries.
Lucy sat across from her in the blunette's living room, looking sympathetic.
"Come on, Lev, you can talk to me!"
Levy's hazel eyes met the blonde's pleading ones, and she gave in, just like she had at the beginning of this crazy ordeal. "I don't know, Lu. I just feel so... angsty," she admitted, face scrunched up in distaste. "I can't even decipher why."
Lucy rolled her eyes playfully. "Ah, there you go again, using big words. You know I'm not an Einstein like you!" When Levy's expression didn't change, the blonde sighed. "I'm really sorry. I hate seeing you like this. This whole situation stinks."
"What bothers me the most is that I don't know why it's affecting me so much."
"You were out of your element at Phantom," Lucy stressed. "It's easy to feel uncomfortable in an unfamiliar environment."
Levy sighed heavily, fondling the cup in her hands. Slow rain pattered on the large, curtained windows; a soothing sound to her ears. She felt so emotional, it killed her. She felt like crying, but also laughing hysterically. She was energetic at night and sleepy in the mornings. It made school more stressful and less enjoyable.
Her hazel eyes stayed downcast. "... I think this is all because I know something that I don't want to admit."
Lucy gazed at her from a sofa down, eyes hopeful. Instead of intervening, she allowed her best friend to continue talking.
The blunette did. "When Mira first mentioned taking us to Phantom, I was against the idea. I told myself that it was because I was afraid. I convinced myself that I was out of my element and there was nothing more to it. But... now I'm realizing... I didn't want to go because I knew it would make me feel guilty. If I saw life through the eyes of someone less fortunate than me, I would want to help them. And while that instinct is good, and as selfish as this is, it interferes with my personal life. It would make me lose everything I worked so hard to get."
Levy glanced up at Lucy with teary eyes. "Is that selfish of me? Am I horrible for thinking that?"
Lucy's heart broke at the sight. Quickly, she sprang up from her spot, no matter how comfortable it had been, and embraced her friend in a comforting hug.
After a few moments of silent crying from Levy, the blonde spoke up. "It's not selfish of you, Levy. Thousands of people hear about the things you've seen and completely disregard it. Some even see suffering lives and do nothing about it. That is selfish. You're feeling conflicted, and that tells me that what you think of yourself is the very opposite. You're kind and caring, and because of that you feel like you need to help those in need. That makes you a wonderful person, Levy."
The blunette wiped the tears from her eyes, hugging her best friend back. Words didn't seem needed at the moment, so she sniffled quietly and allowed the moment to carry them to wherever it did.
Five minutes later, she smiled blearily. "Thank you, Lu. I can't express my gratitude for having a friend as amazing as you."
Lucy grinned back and winked. "Of course! I can't let all this beauty and amazingness go to waste!"
Levy laughed: music to the blonde's ears. Seeing her friend in such a state made her heart shatter.
The blunette scooted over on the loveseat to make room for Lucy. When the blonde did get comfortable and glance at her expectantly, she exhaled slowly. "I feel like I need to do something about those juvenile criminals," she admitted. "As horrible as that experience was, I can't go on with life pretending that it didn't happen."
Lucy blinked. "So what are you saying?"
Levy sighed and met Lucy's eyes, her own hazel ones determined.
"I want to go back to Phantom."

[Ending Notes:] Well... I hope you all aren't brutally killing me for that excuse of a chapter...
Until next time!
