[Beginning Notes:] Happy early fourth of July, everyone! (:
This chapter was not supposed to be this long, but I'm definitely not complaining x) I really wanted to incorporate one of CinnamxnDonut 's ideas and this chapter seemed like the best place to introduce it.
Enjoy! :)

October 22nd, 2016 - Saturday.
That date brought so many emotions to Levy's mind. Excitement, anticipation, nervousness, reluctance, and dread. She'd been preparing herself for today since she first flipped her calendar to the month of October and circled the square in a bright blue marker.
Today was the day when Levy would see her family for the first time since the summer. Her mother and father had moved to Crocus on occupation business at the beginning of her Junior year, taking her two brothers along. She was initially supposed to go, too, but she convinced her parents to let her stay in Magnolia. Her whole life was there; her friends, her school, her home.
The blunette had to admit, living without the rowdy bunch was strange at first. Her apartment room was smaller than she was used to, and the voidance of any chatter - whether it be yelling or simple conversations - felt like an apocalypse to her. She had to look out her window on the first day to make sure there wasn't anything of the sort happening.
But as her Junior year began, Levy fell into step with it all.
Every once in a while, her and her family would rearrange a date for lunch. It was nice, but required a lot of preparation.
Firstly, Levy had to make sure she didn't have any homework. That wasn't hard, though, considering she finished it all in a timely manner. Second, her parents had to either use vacation hours, or confirm that they were off. Despite it being a Saturday, Levy's parents worked six days a week as surgeons at Crocus's hospital.
And thirdly, perhaps the most important stage of preparation - for Levy - was to physically brace herself for the verbal harassment she properly dubbed as questions.
Though, the blunette thought as she tied a headband in her hair. I can't deny the fact that I miss them, or that they're my family, at that.
During her year living alone, Levy had definitely gotten more independent. But there was always that voidance in her heart that could only be filled by the four obnoxious people she knew - and they knew her - best.
Just as the blunette was about to head out, he phone rang from her bedside table.
Rushing over, Levy instantly recognized the picture of her and Lucy at the beach on the caller I.D. and pressed the answer button. "Hey, Lu!"
"Well, aren't you spry today?" Lucy's voice rang out through the device. "I thought you'd be terrified."
"Jet and Droy are a handful," Levy answered, playing with the hem of her turquoise shirt, "but they're nothing compared to you guys."
"That's not what I'm talking about, dummy!" the blonde laughed, and Levy could almost see her rolling her chocolate brown eyes.
"What do you mean?"
There was a short silence in which Levy raised an eyebrow. "Your hot date with Gajeel? Don't tell me you've forgotten already."
Instantly, Levy's face burned an impressive shade of crimson. "W-Wha- It's not a date!" she snapped, gripping the phone tightly. "You know that, Lucy! I'm only teaching him how to read."
