The boats dock at a small port in the North Pole. Luckily the ride, when direct, only takes about 24 hours. I came here with some of the White Lotus members to try and put a stop to the Red Lotus's machine at the northern Spirit Portal. I am the only one of "team Avatar" to come up here. Levi went down to the South Pole and we realized Terra wouldn't be very useful in the Poles so she stayed in Republic City with Serefina. We were not sure about separating Serefina and I but it felt like our only option. If even one of these machines becomes operational, then thousands of people are in danger.

I wasn't planning on going to the capital or the chief because who knows who is a member of the Red Lotus, but the White Lotus said that it needed to be done. So I follow the leaders of the White Lotus into the palace. I had only been here once, with my master on my mastery test day. I was so little back then everyone was so surprised how quickly I had mastered waterbending. But I guess it helps being the Avatar.

As we walk in, I notice that there is a group of people trying to talk to the chief. When we walk in, they all turn to look at us with confused faces. Well mostly the White Lotus, as I was hidden behind some of them.

"Hello White Lotus, what a pleasure to see you again," the chief said sincerely. "What business do you have here in the North Pole?"

"It is an honor to be here at the North Pole again, but I am afraid we come in troubling times," the White Lotus member tells.

"What kind of troubling times?" one of the people with the chief ask.

"Should we come back?" one White Lotus member whispers a little too loudly to another.

"These are all trusted waterbending masters, what you say in front of me, can be said in front of them," the chief announces in a threatening voice. The White Lotus look at each other and before I can help myself, I roll my eyes at their stupidity. Is Serefina rubbing off on me? The White Lotus isn't explaining this quick enough. So I push my way forward, bow to the chief and begin talking.

"Chief, we come to you in troubling times. The Red Lotus has plans to harness the energy from each of the Spirit Portals. We have sent volunteers to each of them to put a stop to this. If they succeed, then the results will be catastrophic. I am assuming you have heard about the tragedy that happened to the walls of Ba Sing Se, luckily most people got out before the devastating 'earthquake'. That earthquake will be small in comparison to the devastation that will happen if even one of these machines becomes operational. We are the force who has come to put a stop to the Red Lotus and their northern front."

"I see, thank you for being direct. I give you permission to fight in the North Pole, but if I may ask, who are you? Women are not generally White Lotus members," the chief asks me.

Before answering I rise and lift my head slowly to look at the chief full on in the eyes now instead of just catching glimpses from my bowed positions of respect. As I am about to tell him my name, someone else beats me to it.

"Nadia?" one of the men I had temporarily forgotten was here questioned. I looked over in surprise only to realize it was my old waterbending master.

"Master Aput!" I cheer running over to him and bowing.

"Nadia it is you!" he saying placing his hands on my shoulders to raise me from my bow before giving me a hug.

"It is good to see you again. I wish it was in better times," I answer.

"Aput, you know this girl?" the chief asks. Is it bad I had almost forgotten why I was here? I suppose I wish things could go back to being slightly normal.
