Chapter 5: Being a Little Unorthidox
I try to move faster through the territory towards the pack house. My pack and the Armalin pack are standing outside of the house. I come to a stop in front of them and nearly collapse. Carrying a vampire for a long time, giving him blood, no sleep, and the stress is finally catching up with me. I stare at the werewolves and sigh for it is good to be home even if I am tired. The wolves in the yard growl at the cloaked thing on my back.
Jerin slides off of me as I move towards the woods to change into the clothes my pack leaves there for emergencies. I try to keep calm as I walk out of the forrest. My arm is throbing from being jousled in running from the holding place. I sit down on the ground trying to keep myself from crying out in pain.
"Jadea come here please I need your help," I tell her.
"Kayla what are you doing here with this vampire," she demands while coming to me.
She avoids Jerin as she comes over to me. She looks over at me curious as to why I need her help.
"My shoulder is dislocated. Jerin here was my cell mate. Who seemed to be an enemy of my captors. As the saying goes: The enemy of my enemy is my friend. I helped him escape and he owes me a life debt. Jerin all I ask in return for that is your help taking down that coven. They set me in that cell with you a vampire who seemed to have not fed in over three weeks to a month and a half," I tell him as Jadea grabs ahold of my shoulder and feels for where the socket is.
I wince as she prepares to replace it. With a quick movement she replaces the joint. I growl out a gasp of pain. Jadea nods to me and helps me up into a standing position. Damon walks over to me and smiles at me for having escaped a vampires layer. I start to walk to my home. When I am half way there, I stop and turn to look at a unmoving vampire.
"Come on Jerin. You can stay in the spare bedroom down stair. There are no windows down there so you will be safe until dusk and then we shall talk alright," I ask him.
"Fine," he says in a calm voice.
"In the fridge are ten blood bags. Sorry but I can not give you fresh blood right now. You can take the bags," I tell him.
Jerin asks no questions just walks in the house and grabs the things that I said he could have and follows Layla down into the basement and into the spare bedroom. Layla comes back up stairs surprised.
"He didn't try anything," she gasps out.
"Your right. He was given a bloody steak back at the layer and I gave him about two pints of blood before we escaped. No I did not let him drink straight from me. The idiots gave me three clean water bottles and I used one to give him blood after I drained it," I reply calmly.
All of the werewolves in the room look at me with surprise. One reason is, is that no werewolf has ever survived being in a covens main layer house with out some serious scaring. Another is that I helped a vampire out of that place and gave him some of my blood in exchange for a service. What most of them dont know is that I know how a vampires pride is. They will stay with some one they owe a debt to and not leave until that debt is paid. So best to try and get his debt paid. Damon comes forward and checks my neck and wrist for the tell tale signs of vampire bites. I show him the slit on my wrist to confirm my story.
"So why do you have blood in your fridge," demands Damon.
"We have vampire friends who like to come by at random times for a visit and it is not polite to oeat in front of guests with out offering them something they like to eat. So we have blood in stock at all times," Layla responds. "We are going to need to refill since he is most likely draining them right now."
"I'll go to the blood bank now stell some," Jadea says.
"Fifthteen pints. I have a feeling our friends are going to stop by soon and Jerin is in serious need of blood those ten pints will do for now but tomorrow night he is going to need some more they haven't fed him in a very long time," I order.
"Alright," she replies before taking off.
"Kayla you know vampires are like our sworn enemies. We alomst never get along. You know that some point they are goiing to betray you," he tells me.
"I have known these vampires for more than four years, Damon. I have earned their trust just as they have mine. I plan on making a treaty with them but I can only do so much right now. My pack and I are considered the current bane of the elder council. All of us are from different countinents except for the twins. We all are of different packs and have left them. The council might very well set the werewolf population after us if we do anything more taboo. That would mean the unneccesarry deaths of hundreds and my packs as well. All of this because my pack and I are unorthidox," I tell him with a very serious tone.
"Very well," he says.
"Now if you guys don't mind ;leaving I would like to catch up on a lot of sleep that I have missed becasue of being caught by vampires. I will tell the full story to you guys tomorrow," I tell them all before going up to my room.
I collapse on my bed and fall into an immediate deep sleep. I sleep until the sun sets.
Alright guys that is all for this chapter. You guys know the drill vote, comment, and fan. Thanks bye.
