Chapter 11: Something Unplanned

The whole time that we are on the plane heading back to my pack, I am pacing the floors of the plane unable to stay still in a seat for more than five seconds. I am worrying over what has happened to my pack. The freaking coven waited to attack until I was on my way back for sure and therefore could do nothing to help my pack. Jerin is sitting in his seat and occasionally says words to try to calm me but nothing can bring me down from this worry I feel. Rusana and Romlan know that there is no way to console me because I have no proof that all of my pack is safe even if they are hurt.

I cannot shake the feeling that something bad has happened. I cannot tell what exactly happened because the connection between me and my pack is spread too far for me to feel anything other than some of the condition that they are in. The bad thing about it being spread so thin is that I will not be able to tell if any of my pack is dead until I get there and the connection can set back into place. He setting back of the connection can take quite some time.

“Enough, Kayla, we are almost there,” Jerin tells me as I walk back down the aisle once again.

“He is right Kayla. We will be landing soon and you need to sit down or you could be hurt and therefore no help to your pack,” Romlan tells me.

I pace the aisle one more time before taking my seat once more. I cannot stay still even while in the chair. My body twitches and jerking even though I am commanding it to stay still. I want to throw something to get rid of my pent up anxiety and frustration. Less than half an hour later, we land in the airport and the door to the landing zone is opened. I jump up and out of my seat and off of the plane heading to the already waiting car. The rest of the vampires who came with me are a few seconds behind me. Most of them are not used to pack mentality in that in covens you look out for yourself in the coven first. I get in the driver seat of the car already waiting for us. There is a van there for those not part of my connections. Rusana, Jerin, and Romlan get into the car at the same second.

As soon as they are sitting down, I put my foot on the gas and start to drive fast to my territory. I can still not get rid of the feeling of unease. I probably should have allowed Jerin to drive the car instead. As we near the pack territory, a pain goes through my heart and I press the breaks. Jerin looks at me and growls loudly. Gently he picks me up and places me in the passenger seat. My inner wolf is howling in both anger and pain for what has happened to my pack. All of their pain is flowing through my veins and it is worse because it is all of their pain since I have been gone and out of the pain sensing range.

The only thing that I could feel while I was in the Vampire Castle was that something had gone wrong and they were hurt but I never knew that they were this bad. I can feel that something bad has happened. The full connection is still not back so I cannot tell if anyone is dead. The connection feels as if three of them are either asleep or dead and the others are worried about something. As we get closer to the pack house, I can sense that things are a lot worse than they should be. Once we pull into the drive way, Jerin shuts the car off and comes around to pull me out of the car before carrying me to the front door. He knocks on the door before pushing it open and placing me gently with in the house boundaries.

“You seven may enter the house this one time but must be asked to enter the house again if you leave,” I tell the group of coven representatives.

A second later everyone is down stairs and growling at the vampires that are now in our home. I shake my head silently telling them to stop. Jerin picks me up once again before leading everyone to the living room before placing me down on one of the relaxing large island chairs. Romlan takes a seat beside me and Jerin once again takes a seat at my feet. Rusana sits at my other side.

“Kayla get away from them. They are traitors,” growls out Jadea.

“What happened,” I demand in a warning tone.

“We were attacked the patrol was fighting for a while before reinforcements could get there. Lots of damage was done before we could get there. We were attacked by twelve members of the Blood Coven. We took down most of them before more showed up. They knew what we were doing and who we were. They knew when you left,” Jadea tells me.

“What made you call them traitors,” I ask trying to relax but I am still in a lot of pain.

“Jayden betrayed us and they are the ones that introduced him to our group,” Layla replies.

“What,” yells Rusana.

“He turned and attacked a few of us and . . . .” Layla cannot seem to go on.

No please do not tell me. No, no, no!!!! My pack or what is left of it stares at me with sad eyes. No it cannot be. I was only gone for a week.

“What are our losses,” I ask them.

“Sadea and Daniella are dead. Racheal is . . . Racheal is . . . .” Jadea says but cannot continue.

“Racheal is kidnapped,” grinds out Eva who has tears in her eyes.

I walk across the room slowly and envelop her in a hug. I would hate to know how it feels to lose my twin. I would absolutely hate it. I would have broken down and never came back to being normal. I can tell that Eva is looking for revenge and she will have it sooner or later I can guarantee that if I have any say in it.

“It is alright. Everything will be fine,” I say. “What have you done with the bodies?”

“They are out near the edge of the forest waiting for you to bless them Alpha,” Layla says quietly.

I nod my head before heading outside and towards the forest edge.

Alright that is it for now. I am getting tired as it is 12:35 am and I need some sleep. I plan on writing this tomorrow but I do not know when it will be updated. Hope you all enjoyed it.
