Sorry everyone but college has been kicking my ass these last few weeks. I will be trying for a long chapter this time but I do not know how much I will be able to do with my plans for this chapter. Any I hope you all enjoy.

Chapter 9: Elders

For hours, I sit in my chair watching the packs argue back and forth about what our course of action should be. Jerin sits just as silent as me and as still as a statue. I usually hate it when vampires do that but I understand his not wanting to draw to much attention to himself seeing as he is the only vampire in the room.

“When do you think I should interfere,” I ask him in a quiet tone.

“I would do it now before it gets any further. They are already getting pissed at each other and have already started working out some plans without your input on it. That was your plan was it not, to make them think for themselves and then introduce an idea that mixes their ideas together and makes things safer and more efficient,” Jerin asks me with a slight smirk on his face.

“Very true,” I reply with a smile. “You should probably get some more blood. Ten more pints are in the fridge take only two more.”

“Thanks,” he replies as he stands up and leaves the room.

Everyone fell silent as Jerin stood up and left the room. Their eyes followed him as he left making sure he would not make a single move against them. With a sigh, I bring everyone’s attention back to me. I shake my head at the look of anger on everyone’s face because of their arguing back and forth. They all act like children even though most of us are over the age of seventeen and have been wolves for the last six or seven years. Although it could very well be the wolves in us fighting to get out because of territory and the threat against other pack members.

“Jadea, I want a four man patrol running the border. Patrols are to be switched every five or six hours. I will be going around with the night patrols to keep things from getting to wild when the Empire sends a messenger to me,” I order.

“Yes, ma’am and what are we going to do,” she asks calmly while bowing her head to show respect for me in front of another pack.

“I plan on protecting my lands and training with all of you. For the younger wolves of my pack, I am stepping up your training starting tomorrow. We must be ready for if they decide to try and attack us sometime in the near future,” I tell them. “Things would work better if our packs would work together to protect our territories, Daemon but I understand if you want to just protect your own.”

“What would we do, if we trained with you,” asks Daemon.

I can tell he is angered by having such a calm exterior and knowing exactly what I want done. Some of his wolves are picking up on it and are starting to growl. They need to learn control of their emotions and inner wolf.

Hey you still listen to me,’ my inner wolf says.

‘Yes but I do not always do as you tell me. I do not allow you to rule over each and every action of mine. We normally agree on things and work from there” I tell her.

Oh that is true,’ she replies with a slight shake of her head.

“You would train with the younger wolves until I could see what level of trining that I need to place you in,” I reply.

“You insult us by doing that. Your younger wolves have almost no training,” growls on of the wolves from Daemon’s pack.

“You know nothing about what my pack can do, Simon. The youngest member of my pack can fight well in both human and wolf form. I train my pack to fight in both forms for when one form is more convenient or if at some point they cannot change into the other form,” I growl back.
