Okay guys. I am so sorry for the long wait but I have been extremely busy with college and have had little or no spare time. I will try to make up for it right now. This might or might not become a long chapter depending on what I feel this chapter needs and not going overboard. So here it goes, enjoy it.

Chapter 8: Vampires Galore

I walk down the stairs calmly and ignoring the tension of the werewolves behind me who have never met these vampires. Most of the Armalin pack is twitching loud enough for my ears to pick up the sounds of their muscles moving beneath their skin. The only one that seems to be calm is my brother who over years of being with me as his twin has learned to trust me and my judgment even if it seems crazy and may end with our deaths if one thing fails. I stay focused on getting to the door without breaking into a happy dance. It has been a little over a year since I last saw the vampires standing at my door waiting for me to get to the door.

When I reach the door, Layla and Jadea take up their usual spots at my side. We may know these vampires but we have learned to expect anything even from those we trust. These vampires may be friends but what might be following them may not be. I open the door and smile as I see the four friends of ours.

“Welcome Lady Rusana, Lord Jayden, and Prince Romlan,” I say with a bow.

As soon I say the words prince, I hear the gasps of most of the wolves behind me. Most of them probably thought I had connections with vampires of low stature with the court. Ha, as if I would not work my way up the vampire chain to higher nobles. I never expected to become friends with the vampire prince. One day Lady Rusana brought him over for a meeting with me so that he can know me and what was my pack then. It was Prince Romlan that introduced Lord Jayden to our group. Jayden is a young vampire but he is the second in command of the third strongest clan in the Vampire Empire(A/N: I think I like that name).

It takes only a second for those of my pack to follow my lead and bow to the vampire prince. The Armalin pack just stares in amazement or glare in anger of vampires being so close to their territory. I shake my head at their poor court manners. Were they closer to the Darren’s(Alpha of Alphas at least in the America’s) or had they been in Europe they would have known how to act when around royals because both demand you show respect to wolves of higher status than you and vampires of high status who visit the werewolf courts.

“Hello Kayla and the Aikira pack. It has been a long time,” Prince Romlan replies.

“You all may enter this one time and after that must be asked to enter again if you come back,” I say the phrase to allow them in this once.

I turn my back to them and head over to the dining and living room. I move the walls which can be moved aside for expanded space. I turn back and look at the others all of them have looks of extreme surprise written on their faces. I chuckle. Most likely they are mad that I did not tell them that this could happen thus giving them more room when they were crammed into both rooms. I shake my head at their not thinking of the walls being moveable. Of course they are. I remember the fights grandpa and father got into in these very rooms. One of us always hurried to move the wall away because if not the rooms would permanently be one.

“This was here because my father and grandfather used to fight enough to break down even brick walls so it is easier to use a moving wall,” I explain to them.

“This seems to be more than your usual fare of werewolves Kayla. Have you decided to take in males as well,” jokes Lady Rusana as she takes one of the seats near the bar stools.

Romlan and I take two of the bar seats and are soon joined by Daemon. I look over the group of vampires and werewolves. I hear steps on the stairs leading upstairs. I feel Romlan stiffen beside me as he catches the scent of the vampire in my home.

“These are some of the wolves from the Armalin Pack,” I answer and pause in my explanation waiting for Jerin to reach the top of the stairs.

Jerin slowly walks into the room and stares at all of us. I motion for him to come closer to me. Jerin walks much more precise and graceful now that he has some blood in his system. He is less haggard looking but it will be some time before it completely disappears. Jerin comes to stop before me and gracefully sits Indian style facing the packs and the vampires.

“Has the blood helped any,” I ask him.

“Yes, thank you for the help. I never expected a werewolf to survive them and thought it impossible for one to help me escape,” he tells me in a whisper.

“In Europe most packs have ties with the Vampire Empire. It is less practiced over here but in Europe it is almost a demanded thing. The stronger your pack the better your connections and the more connections the pack has,” I tell him.

“Ha then your pack is weak,” says one from the Armalin pack.

“You know not what you say pup,” growls out Romlan.

“Oh don’t I if this pack has only three connections then it must be weak,” replies the wolf again.

“Why should we need more connections if we have ties with the top three clans in the Vampire Empire,” I ask them.

I pause for a second allowing them to register the information. A few seconds later they all gasp at the implications I just gave them.

“Prince Romlan is the crown prince of the empire. Lady Rusana is the clan head for the Blood Rose Clan, an all-female clan and second strongest clan. Lord Jayden is the second in command of the Blood Moon Clan, third strongest clan in the empire,” I tell them. “Now do you understand why we need no other connections?”

A light growl escapes from my throat at the thought of them still thinking we are weak. Had we more members we would be the second best pack in Europe but with our small numbers we have little chance of getting any higher in stature among the Europe Packs. We are happy with our position but sometimes wolves belittle us for being an all-girls pack.

“Kayla how is it that you have one of the vampires from the Roving Clan with you,” demands Romlan.

“Oh so you are from the Roving Clan huh,” I pause as Jerin nods in answer to my question. “It has been awhile since I have seen a vampire of that clan. Your clan usually stays away from politics even with its’ position as fourth in power. You all usually prefer travel to politics. I am guessing that they took you to gain information about your clan so they can bring them down. This is just getting better and better,” I whisper the last part.

“Again I repeat why is he here in your home,” demands Romlan.

“Shall I tell them or do you want to do it this time,” I ask Jerin.

“I will tell them,” he says. “My name is Jerin and I am the third in command of the Roving Clan. I was out patrolling the area my clan currently lives on when I was ambushed by five strong vampires from the Blood Clan.”

Jerin goes about telling them the story of his capture and how we got out of the Blood Clans grasp. It hurt listening to him tell of how I pretended to be weak and human. Romlan and Rusana look over at me when he finishes. They both know how I hate to be seen as weak and useless. They helped me with my fighting skills when I was a freshmen and fresh to the courts. Jayden just looks at me with amusement in his eyes. When he finishes our whole story, everyone turns to look at me. Some have looks of disgust in their eyes while most have looks of surprise at my having escaped them at all.

“So you had a run in with the Blood Clan, did you Kayla? Was it as bad as they say it is,” Jayden asks with a smirk on his face.

“Oh that and so much more. They were actually scared of Jerin at least everyone but Darrel of course. Lord can someone warn me about a vampire that has a oh what is the word I am looking for oh yea an extreme fascination for human especially since I smell like one,” I growl out.

“Everything will be fine. I will go and talk to mother and father and then we can convene for a war meeting,” Romlan tells me as he, Rusana, and Jayden stand.

All of them leave the room and soon chaos erupts in the room. I listen as the wolves around me scream and yell at each other.

Alright that is all of it for tonight. Bye everyone and until next time which should be soon.
