Just like English, there are three different tenses in Spanish; past, present, and future.
In this chapter, we are going to focus on the present tense. The present tense has a pattern so if you memorize the pattern, you can easily write sentences in present tense. :)
-> Conjugation of regular -ar verbs(present tense):
Simply drop the ending(-ar) from the verb, and add the following...
For example, let's use the verb, hablar(to talk, to speak).
Yo hablo español. = I speak Spanish.
Tú hablas español. = You speak Spanish.
Él/Ella habla español. = He/She speaks Spanish.
Nosotros(only boys or mixed)/Nosotras(only girls) hablamos español. = We speak Spanish.
Vosotros(only boys or mixed)/Vosotras(only girls) habláis español. = They speak Spanish. (Many people really don't use vosotros and vosotras.)
Ellos(only boys or mixed)/Ellas(only girls) hablan español. = They speak Spanish. (People use ellos and ellas more often than vosotros and vosotras.)
-> Conjugation of regular -er verbs(present tense):
Simply drop the ending(-er) from the verb, and add the following...
For example, let's use the verb, beber(to drink).
Yo bebo agua. = I drink water.
Tú bebes agua. = You drink water.
Él/ella bebe auga. = He/she drinks water.
Nosotros/Nosotras bebemos agua. = We drink water.
Vosotros/Vosotras bebéis agua. = They drink water.
Ellos/Ellas beben agua. = They drink water.
-> Conjugation of regular -ir verbs(present tense):
Simply drop the ending(-ir) from the verb, and add the following...
For example, let's use the verb, escribir(to write).
Yo escribo una carta. = I write a letter.
Tú escribes una carta. = You write a letter.
Él/ella escribe una carta. = He/she writes a letter.
Nosotros/Nosotras escribimos una carta. = We write a letter.
Vosotros/Vosotras escribís una carta. = They write a letter.

Verbs that have unique conjugation like pensar and poder are called irregular verbs...
For example...
Pensar: to think e -> ie
Poder: can, be able to o -> ue

It took me so long to complete this chapter :(. I tried my best to think of the easiest way to explain how we write sentences in present tense...and it was hard.
Hope you understood this chapter and feel like you learned something!!
Adios.
