"Can you hurry up?" Harry asks impatiently walking in front of me.
"I will walk in whatever pace I find pleasing," I tell him, and continue to walk in the same tempo as before.
After I met him yesterday by the bench I simply went home to get some sleep. When I woke up this morning I decided to take a trip outside, and to my surprise he was waiting for me just outside the front door, scaring me senseless. I didn't even bother to ask how he knew where I lived, because he most likely asked someone. He has yet to tell me where he wants to take me, but I don't ask either knowing he won't give me an answer.
"Have I told you that you are the most stubborn person I have ever met?" He rolls his eyes at the fact that I will not listen to him. I do not like being told what to do, so I will do whatever I want because I know what is best for me.
"No, you have not," I answer. He slows down his pace so he can walk by my side.
"Well, you are." He says leaning his head down towards me as he speaks.
"And you are the most reckless person I have ever met."
"Of course I am because I know that it isn't any fun doing things if you are constantly concerned about the consequences." He tells me, and start to move his pace up to a small jog, letting the long grass slide along his legs as he moves through the forest.
"It may not be fun, but it is smart."
"You only say that because you are one of those not reckless people." He stops and turns to me with his eyebrows raised and a sly smile on his face.
"At least the king hasn't put a target on my back." I walk up to him where he is standing still, his eyes watch me as I move closer, holding out both his hands for me to place mine in.
"Exactly, darling. What fun would it be to not have someone after you?" I place my hands in his, and he grips them tight, holding them up between us. "Besides it just makes things ten times more exciting, the thrill becomes bigger, and your adrenaline hits harder. I promise you the feeling is worth it." His eyes hold excitement, and I already know he is addicted to the feeling he is describing. A dangerous feeling that is.
"Too bad I won't get to experience it then, not everyone can go around sleeping with his daughter to get the king after them." I let out a chuckle, the breath coming from my mouth hits both our hands.
"You're not missing out on anything, love." He says, and both of us can't hold in our laughter. It echoes through the forest like a happy melody. I would have never imagined myself laughing at one of the poor girls that Harry has victimized, but here I am.
When the laughter has died down we continue to walk in the direction Harry wants. He doesn't let go of my hand while we walk, and I don't say anything to make him do so. He notices that I don't have a reaction to his action so he intertwines our finger, looking at my face to see if I disagree. I look up at him with a warm smile letting him know it is okay.
After almost a half hour of walking, we come to a stop right outside a farm. Harry lets go of me and walk inside. Minutes later he comes out with a big white horse.
"Did you honestly rent a horse?" I ask shocked.
"I thought we could go for a ride." Immediately after the words leave his mouth my mind takes his words much dirtier then what he actually meant. I bite my lip trying to hold back a laugh, Harry sees and is quick to understand what I am thinking. "You have an awfully dirty mind." He says with a weak laugh.
"That was not hard to take the wrong way." I defend myself as I walk up to him, and the horse.
He walks over to where the reins, and saddles are, and pick them up before walking back over to the horse to put it on. I can see his muscles tense through the shirt as he put the saddle on knowing it is not very light. I lean back on the fence enjoying the view of him saddling the horse.
Once he is done he waves for me to come over. "Have you ever been on a horse before?" He asks walking over to one side of the horse.
"No. I thought we established yesterday that I am afraid of heights." I remind him of as I walk to stand beside him.
"Right, then you most likely don't know how to get on the horse either?" I just shake my head in response. "Okay, just put your left foot in the stirrup. I will lift you up high enough to throw your right foot over, okay?"
"Okay."
I put my left foot in the stirrup as he said, and soon feel his hands on my hips ready to lift me up. "Ready?" He asks, and I nod. He starts to lift me from the ground, and when I am high enough I throw my right foot over. He lets go of my hips, and I adjust myself on the saddle. I look down, and my eyes immediately turn wide. I knew the horse was tall, but it somehow seems ten times higher from up here. "Relax, love. I will sit right in front of you."
He gets up on the horse the same way I did, but whiteout helps, and sit down in front of me. His arms reach out and take a hold of the reins. He does something to make the horse move, but I am too frightened to even notice what he did. When the horse moves my whole body tense, and I can feel Harry chuckle in front of me. I move my hand to his shirt, gripping onto the fabric so I won't fall off.
"You can hold around me, you know," Harry says turning his head a little to look at me.
"I'm fine."
We sit on the horse while it walks around for a little bit so I can get used to it. After a while, I am finally able to relax, because of Harry making small talk so I will get distracted. However seconds later someone comes out of the barn.
"Hey, you two what are you doing with my horse!" The old man says running towards us.
"Shit." I hear Harry curse, and soon after the horse starts running. I let out a small scream, and wrap my arms around his waist, holding on for dear life. We run away from the angry old man, and while I am panicking Harry is laughing, and has a big smile on his face.
"What the hell, Harry! You said you rented the horse." I scream to him even though he is right in front of me.
"Actually no, you said I rented it, and I didn't answer." He says with amusement in his voice. We run so far that we can't see the farm or the old man anymore.
After a long time I am getting used to the pace, and let out a laugh of my own while I let the wind blow in my hair. However that is short-lived because Harry makes the horse come to a stop, and I swear if I didn't hold onto Harry I would have flown off. I quickly notice why we stopped, we have come to the border to the next kingdom. I know we can't go further or else it will seem like treachery.
"Ever thought about running away?" Harry asks staring at the other kingdom.
"Every day," I admit taking in the sight myself.
"I know people know who Casanova is everywhere else, but I am also certain they don't know what I look like there." Even though he didn't say it I know that he means that there is a chance for him to start over, a chance for him to be Harry.
"Then why don't you go?" I asked curiously as to what is keeping him here.
"Someone made a promise to me once, and I intend on being here until the promise is fulfilled." He explains, and just by the sound of hurt in his voice, I know better than to push it further.
"When I am finished with my book, and I publish it I'm going to travel all around to try and meet every single person that has read it," I admit to him trying to change the subject a little bit.
He hums turning his head to look at me. "You have to promise to buy me something from every place you go, and give it to me when you come back to visit."
I smile up at him, and I do not know why it made me so happy, but it did. "I promise," I tell him. I can feel his one hand move to the hands I have wrapped around his waist. His squeeze my hands gently, with a smile on his face.
He looks back up at the other kingdom. "We should head back." He says turning the horse around, and running back. This time I had no fear of the fast pace knowing I am safe with Harry in charge.
