"I want to apologize for my mothers' behavior at dinner yesterday," Leith says as he walks beside me. He had to go to the market today to do some business with the people selling valuable objects here and asked me to escort him. I wanted to say no, but with Olivia breathing down my neck I didn't have much choice.
"It's perfectly fine," I assure him while my eyes wander over all the food on display. I try my best to avoid giving him signals telling him I don't want to be here, but it is harder then I thought.
"You know I overheard your sister, and my mother talks about the wedding, and I don't think either of us will have a say in how it will be." He chuckles making me let out a small laugh knowing he is right. I honestly thought he had decided it all, but turns out I'm wrong.
"I think you're right. How would you have our wedding be then if you could choose?" I ask intrigued if he secretly wants a hoarse themed wedding or something like that.
"I love the color blue, so definitely some blue flowers." I look up at him with a smile. He isn't a bad person at all, and I know this won't be as bad as I thought, but a voice in my head keeps reminding me that he is still not Harry. "What?" He asks noticing me smiling at him.
"Nothing it's just that blue is my favorite color, so I hoped to have some blue orchids at the wedding," I admit, and he gives me a smile in return, a very cute smile might I add.
"Well, then we'll just have to sneak some in then." He jokes, and I can't help but laugh a little. "I am sorry, but I do need to take care of what I came here for, but I will be back very soon." He says before giving me a kiss on the cheek and rushing off.
"Thank god. I thought he was never gonna leave." A voice says making me jump in shock not realizing someone was behind me. I turn around to see Harry standing there with a smile.
"Go away," I tell him before walking over to the food. I can't leave since I have to wait for Leith, but I can ignore him as much as I please.
"Mira, I said I was sorry. When are you going to forgive me?" He asks trying to move in front of me so I will look at him, but I just keep moving around him and keep my attention on the food instead.
"Never works for me," I tell him as I try to rush through a few people in an attempt to lose him in the crowd.
"Well, that doesn't work for me. You can't seriously go through with this knowing you still love me." His words make me stop in my tracks. I don't know why his words have such an effect on me, but maybe it is because they are true. I turn around slowly, and he sighs in relief knowing he got my attention.
"You could sleep with my sister knowing you were in love with me, so this concept shouldn't be so hard for you to understand." I snap before resting a hand on my hip ready to hear what he has to say next.
"If I could take that back I would, I swear, but there is nothing I can do about it now. Please forgive me. It was never my intention to break your heart, and you know that. Deep down you know that I wasn't enjoying a second of it, and didn't do it to hurt you." He says moving closer. I don't move away, because he is right. All he said is right, but it is easier for me to let him go if I am angry at him for what he did.
"Mira, is this man bothering you?" Leith's voice snaps me back to reality as he appears beside me. His hand rests on the lower part of my back in an attempt to comfort me.
"No, no he was just asking where the apples are," I say the first excuse I can come up with. He grabs my arm making me turn around. It comes off as a little more aggressive than it probably was meant to be.
"Don't touch her like that," Harry says pushing Leith away from me. Leith stumbles backward from the impact quite shocked at what Harry did.
"You don't decide how I touch my wife." Leith answer pushing Harry backward as well. I am not his wife, not yet at least.
As soon as the words wife hits Harry's ears he snaps sending his fist straight into Leith's face. I step back with a gasp to shocked to even react yet. "She isn't your wife yet," Harry says rolling his shoulders knowing the fight isn't over yet.
"Yeah maybe, but at least she will be," Leith says with a smirk knowing Harry hates what he is saying. Harry punch him again, and this time I actually react. I move in between the two holding Harry back. He relaxes as soon as I touch him and backs down.
"You two are acting childish. You will walk away from each other, and so am I. Leith it was nice of you to invite me, but I am going home now." I glare at both of them before I start to walk away, but as soon as I come to a corner I hide behind it trying to catch my breath, and process what just happened.
My curiosity takes the better of me, and I subtly look around the corner to see what they will do next. Harry is gone right when I decide to look but appears seconds later with ice in his hand. As soon as he is in front of Leith he stretches out his hand with the ice in it. Leith doesn't take it making Harry speak. "Look, mate. I'm not sorry for hurting you, but I just need to make sure that you will take care of her." I smile to myself over the fact that even after all I said he is still making sure I am in good hands.
"I will she is a special one," Leith says finally accepting the ice pack, and resting it against his bruising eye. He flinches away at first because of the coldness but is quickly very thankful for the ice.
"Indeed she is," Harry replies as he starts to play with the rings on his hand nervously. He turns to walk away but stops seconds later going back to Leith. "By the way, I just think you should know that she is writing this book, so please let her finish it. I haven't read it, but I have read some of the other things she has written, and she is really talented." I look away feeling guilt rush over me, because of the I have treated him.
He turns to walk away again but takes one step before he stops. "Oh, and please do remind her of how beautiful she is. She seems to forget that sometimes, and I just want to make sure she always knows it." Tears start to build up in my eyes at Harry's words. this part of Harry is one of those I fell in love with.
"One last thing before I go. If I hear that you have hurt her in any way you better run, mate, because what I gave you before isn't even half of what I'll give you then." Leith looks a bit scared, and I almost laugh remembering how he can go from sweet to this under one second. Harry back away satisfied with his threat, and disappears out of sight. I shake my head smiling before going home as well.
