*Disclaimer: There are some quotes/poems in this chapter, and I am not taking credit for ANY of them except the first one about the day they met. I don't know who has written the rest of them, but it's not me.*
I roll over in bed groaning when I feel someone shaking me. I try to ignore the person, but they roll me on my back, and the sun hits me right in the face. "What?" I mumble in a tired voice. I open one eye so I can see who it is.
"You need to wake up. It's four pm." Olivia complains, but I just shake her hand off my shoulder. I have been spending yesterday, and today in bed. After Harry started a fight with Leith I didn't have much energy to do anything other than stay in bed.
"I don't have to do anything, and besides the bed is giving me all the comfort I need right now." I pout shoving my head into my pillow hoping she will take the hint, and leave me alone. However, knowing Olivia she doesn't even know what taking a hint means.
"All right, but I thought you should know that Heath stopped by this morning." My head snaps up from her words making me sit up. My head gets a little dizzy from sitting up so fast, but after a quick breath, I'm fine.
"What did he want?" I ask now intrigued to know what his sudden visit was about. I really thought after what happened yesterday that he would let me go for good, and stop fighting for me, but I guess my stubbornness has rubbed off on him.
"He wanted me to give you this." She pulls says pulling out a gift from behind her back. It's easy to see that it is a book, so I don't know why he bothered to wrap it. "He said you would know what it is." She puts the book down on my bed before she stands up, and leaves me alone with whatever it is Harry has given me
I don't touch it, I just stare at it with empty eyes. Some part of thinks I know what it is, and that just makes it even scarier. However what if it's not, and it's just a box formed as a book with something in it. Am I overthinking this? Probably. I sigh before reaching my hand out and picking it up. I rip the paper of impatiently and throws it to the ground. As soon as my eyes land on the book it is exactly what I thought it was. It is the book Harry had brought with him to write poems in.
I slowly open the first page feeling scared yet excited to know some of his inner thoughts. The first few chapters are about him, and his mother. He describes her as a kind women with a big heart, and I immediately know where Harry gets his from. However, as the pages go on not all of the poems are as nice about his mother. He writes about how he feels she chose to give him away, how she didn't want him. Over the pages, he grew more and more insecure. One of them even made me realize his obsession with the moon. He replaced it with his mother. He talked to it knowing it couldn't tell anyone else, and knowing that it would always come back the next night to listen.
After many pages, I started to recognize the dates. The first date I recognized was the day we met at the ball.
"You were the first one to say no to dance with me and the first one to say your honest opinion about it all. You stole my attention with one word, faster then anyone could. I learned that day that your heart was as beautiful as your looks, so I vowed to myself at the moment you accepted the blue flower that if I ever was as lucky to have your heart it would be my most prized possession, and I wouldn't let anyone, not even myself break it."
I smile down at the book while my mind fills with memories of that night, and how he climbed out of the window of another girls room. I laugh thinking about how even back then I didn't take the hint, of what was unavoidable.
The second date is from the day we stole the horse. I was so scared of showing any affection towards him, but he made it all seem so easy, so right. He didn't make it all seem like the stupid idea it was, he made it fun.
