     You watched the clock tick intensely, waiting for this class to finally be over and go home. Your parents were finally going to tell you something very important for your birthday.

     "Class is over and you have no current assignments! I'll see you all tomorrow -- have a good day, everyone!"

     Gathering your things, you quickly filed out the the bustling classroom and sprinted out of the door at full speed. Before leaving, you made sure to do some things on your agenda.

     Finishing them up, you sent a fast message to your parents that you were on your way home.

     When you got home, you slammed opened the door, startling your family as they were on the couch watching some television shows. You noticed your brother also was sat next your parents on the peach couch.

     "Nii-chan?"

     "[First Name]! Are you ready to have The Talk?" he said as his face filled with excitment.

     A shiver was sent down your spine, afraid of what was to come because you were expecting "The Talk: The Birds and the Bees" kind of talk. But they wouldn't do that to their precious child, would they? "Um, I-I think so.."

     Hesitantly, you planted yourself down on the matching reclining chair across of your two parents and your older brother that came back home from university yesterday. Their faces were gleaming bright with brightness as if they were lightbulbs. "Okay, you know when two people love each other very much-" your brother started.

      You shot up from your seat with your face red as your friend Kenma's volleyball jersey. "Wait, wait, wait! I didn't know we were having that kind of talk!!"

     "Onee-chan's face reminds me of Kenma-kun's school!" your younger sister exclaimed.

     You jumped up like a cat in surprise. "Who put her here??? Is she having The Talk, too?! She's too young to have innocence pulled right out of her by Nii-chan!"

     Your family laughed hysterically and your brother slapped his knee. "You didn't let me finish, [First Name]! When two people love each other very much, destiny has choosen them to be soulmates!"

     "Aunt Destiny?"

     Your dad sighed as the whole family sweatdropped, killing the mood. "Yeah, we'll go with that."

     "Then what was the important thing? Or was that it?" you asked, sitting back down to only sit on one of your sister's toys -- one of her squeaky toys. "[Sister's Name]!" She giggled in amusement and ran away with her white teddy in her arms.

      Your mother giggled, "Anyways, many families have choosen to go with this idea of soulmates. Only five percent of the whole world doesn't follow it. It's like magic!"

     "Okay, so?"

     Your dad grinned, "As parents, we get to choose how you meet your soulmate!"

     "You mean choosen, dad." your brother corrected.

     "What?!?"

     "Haven't you read those fan-fictions about these sort of things?" your mom questioned.

     "Mom!"

     "We can't tell you everything, but we can say that it's going to be a weird meeting!"

      "Do you know who my soulmate is?"

     Your mom shook her head, "We don't know that much that could help you."

     "Then how do I know if they're my soulmate or not?"

      Your brother smirked, "Oh, you'll know, my dear sibling."

     "And that's what happened yesterday." you sighed, rubbing your head in total frustration, your mind still stuck on what your family explained to you yesterday.

     "The only thing I don't get is why they just decided to tell you now.." Ren asked, tapping his fingers on your desk in curiosity and interest.

     "What do you mean, Ren?" You narrowed your eyes at him as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

     "My parents told me about this soulmate things a while ago.."

     "How long ago?"

     "A couple of years..."

     "What the heck? Do my parents not love me?"

     Ren stiffled a laugh and pat you on the back with reassurance, "Anyhoo, I'm going to meet some friends on the volleyball team after school. Wanna meet them?"

     You stared at him blankly and had the sudden urge to punch the guy right in the face for not knowing you at all because you love volleyball with a huge passion. He got the message and back away slightly with beads of sweat dripping down his forehead. "Okay, you're going."

     "HELL YEAH, I AM!"

     Your teached narrowed her eyes at you with your sudden outburst of excitment. You apologized and went back to work on your assignment that was actually supposed to be turned in a few days ago.

     As you both entered the gym, your eyes sparkled in excitment seeing all the boys -- of course dripping in sweat -- parcticing their skills, which what was peeked your interest the most. Everyone was so good at volleyball, you couldn't help but cry a tiny bit.

     "Watch out!"

     You turned your head slightly to see a volleyball flashing in front of your face. You swiftly moved out of the way for only to leave to ball to hit Ren's face. You caught the volleyball before it bounced on his face a forcefully threw it back, hitting one of the players.

     "Ow, ow, OW!" he screeched, rubbing the back of his head that was now marked with a red bump.

     "Oops, sorry..."

     He turned his neck around, and you found it greatly owl-like; interesting and creepy, but mostly creepy. His eyes were really owl-like, too. They searched around you then focused on you. He finally turned his whole body towards you and ran full speed. You shouted in fear and ran the other way, but he tackled you down before you could. You were pinned to the ground and had no way of getting out of his body cage. You could only stare at his golden eyes, making you blush.

     "Y-you.."

     "Excuse me...?"

     You suddenly felt a spark a realized what your parents said about how you'll know.

     "Oh, they're dead when I get back home."

     "Huh? Who?"

I have no idea what I have just written so excuse the horribleness. And yes, this was a weird soulmate AU.. ^^;
