My lunch break is well deserved. There was nothing else I had been looking forward to the whole day.

I grabbed my purse and shoved my phone inside. My jacket would be a necessity because of the weather outside. One other necessity was Natalie. This was a time for us to really talk about everything that was going on in our lives, from my side as well as from hers.

Well I haven't been completely honest about everything from my side.

How would I even begin to tell her that I was cheating on my husband with my boss, our boss.

Oh hey, guess what! I'm cheating on my husband with Nate, our boss. Pretty cool, isn't it?

The fact that my marriage is crumbling in disguise is practically all she knows. It was actually her conclusion after I had explained 'everything'. Her solutions aren't exactly the best of solutions however.

One good one was when she offered to pay for an arousal cream from one of her fetishist friends when I told her how... dissatisfied I was.

Oh Natalie..

"Hi this is Natalie, you've reached my voicemail-"

For the third time,I hung up to no avail. She wasn't at her station either. I sighed internally at the thought of having lunch alone. Then again, some time alone would be proficient.

One of the other reasons I needed Natalie- she has a car. Walking is healthy, yes. But too much of it becomes a nuisance. Especially with the weird temperature changes occurring lately.

That doesn't make me materialistic, does it?

There was no other diner I preferred - mainly because it was a walkable distance from work, and because not many of my sophisticated colleagues would come to it. By going there, I'd be setting myself up for kind faces also. Chris and I would often have our dinner here. It is way better than my cooking.

I was met by the huge smile of Chubb, the manager and barman, from across the café . His cheeks had a rosy pink to them which made it hard to tell whether he was blushing or not since they always are that way. His actual name was Harvey something, though I called him Chubb, along with a few of his other customers because he really looked like a baby bear.

No offence taken by him, he is comfortable with his weight.

He is probably why people keep coming back ,he has a way around things, people - life, that I admired. This was a given by the advice he always gave, and the carefree smile he didn't mind offering to anyone.

"Ah,Its been a while. I was starting to think that you got another diner to dine at." He chattered as he gestured towards the open seat close to the window. He knew that I always requested to sit by the window.

"I wouldn't dare." I laughed. "You know you guys serve the best food around, don't you?"

He gave a teasing smile ,though it barely appeared as mean as intended because his cheeks wouldn't let it.

"I see you want a discount on something,I'm not buying your sweet nothings madame." He gave me a sarcastic bow and I pretended an offended sigh.

"Hey,do you guys still have the-"

"Cottage pie?" We said simultaneously. My smile grew wider at the fact that he hadn't forgotten what Chris and I would frequently order. A bustle of emotions then heated up my chest as I watched Chubb boast about how Chris and I always looked so happy together, how we were his favourite customers.
