As I rise up from unconsciousness, I can feel blankets around me. I can tell I am lying in a bed that has to be the most comfortable bed I have ever been in my life. I can tell by the woodsy, musky smell that I am not in my room. I am in a mans room, but who's? I stretch and open my eyes to see a blue ceiling. The bed I am in is huge and is in the middle of a very masculine room. To my left are two doors with a massive TV set into the wall in between. At the bottom of the bed is dresser with nothing on top but it is huge as well. It must have 20 drawers or more. To my right is another door, a gigantic mirror and a recliner.
I gasp. In the recliner is Joel, snoring slightly. It wasn't a dream. He's alive. How? Why? Do our parents know he's alive? I slowly slide out of bed and walk towards him. I feel a cold breeze on my legs and look down. Where did my clothes go? Whose shirt am I wearing? At least it's big enough that it goes to my knees. Who changed my clothes? I take a deep breath and look up at Joel again.
He is still snoring. Joel is my baby brother, as I am 4 years older than him, even if you can't tell now. He has to be 4 times my size. I walk towards him, just needing to touch him to make sure he's real. I reach my hand out as I draw closer. Joel snorts and shifts his weight. I freeze until he starts snoring again.
I slowly walk closer to him. As I get within an arms length of him, I touch his cheek with the tips of my fingers, staring at his face. He's real! I know he's my brother. He knew about Snowflake and we share the same eyes. He has the same color hair and skin. 'JOEL'S ALIVE!'
Joel's eyes pop open and he grabs my hand. I gasp as he jumps up faster than my eyes can follow.
"Cici! You're awake! Are you hungry? Thirsty? Can I get you anything? The bathroom is behind you to the left. I can...."
"Joel, shut up. You’re blabbering." I giggle and roll my eyes as I wrap my arms around him in a hug. "I just want answers. How are you alive? Where are we? Where have you been? Do Mom and Dad know?"
"Whoa, sorry for blabbering. I promise to answer your questions, but you need to shower and get dressed before the others get here. Trust me, I am not avoiding your questions, just please, get dressed so I don't have to kill any of my friends for seeing you like that." Joel walks over to one of the doors by the TV behind me. When he opens the door I see a walk-in closet the size of my room at home. "I have some clothes in here from when I first came here that will fit you better than my shirt. Here put these on. Take a shower, if you'd like, I'll wait here until you come out. When you are done, then I will answer your questions." He throws some clothes at me and sits back down in the chair.
"Who changed my clothes? Where are my clothes?" I ask.
"I did. They are in the wash. I promise I didn't see anything, but you stink and I had to get them off of you. You were covered in sweat." He grins and points toward the bathroom again.
"I do not stink. Girls don't sweat, we perspire, jerk." I fake pout, stomp over to the door he's pointing at and look back at him. "You won't leave?"
"No, Cici. I promise I won't leave."
I open the bathroom door and find a spa. The shower door is to my right and has stone walls with a stone bench seat. There is no shower head but I can tell the water comes out of wholes all around the ceiling and walls. The jacuzzi bath next to it is big enough to fit two of Joel. I didn't know they made bath tubs that big. It's could almost be a swimming pool. The toilet sits behind a short stone wall that has a vanity sink next to it. I sigh contentedly. This bathroom looks like it came right out of a magazine. I sit the clothes on the counter and turn on the shower to let the water warm up. I undress and step into the stall. 'This is heaven. I must have died while I was running and gone to heaven. Joel and a dream bathroom, yes, that's it. I am in heaven.' I think while I wash my hair with the shampoo that must be Joel's.
