"You have got to be kidding me right now?  Thomas is Roberto’s brother!” I scream and jump up from the bed.

“Yes, Cici, Thomas is Roberto’s brother.  Why does that upset you so much?”

“For many reasons, Mateo.  I can’t believe he hasn’t told him yet.  Mateo, we need to talk to Thomas.  He has to tell Roberto.  I am telling you now, if he tells Roberto, then Berto won’t feel so lonely.  I know that you have treated like a little brother and the pack has welcomed him but he is so lonely.  Why the hell haven’t you made him tell him the truth?”

“How do you know Roberto feels lonely?  He he’s never indicated that to me.”  Mateo sits up and looks at me confused.

“I can feel it, Mateo.  Especially when he was telling me about his dreams.  He wishes he could remember his parents so badly but he just can’t.  To find out that he has a blood brother will make that boy so happy.  Do you realize that if Roberto’s dreams are memories, than he is over a hundred years old?”

“Yeah, Cici, I do.  Thomas is about 130 years old so I figured that Roberto was between 115 and 125 years old.  Come on, Thomas is waiting for us in the office.  He has something he and Miakoda want to talk to us about.  We can discuss Roberto after he’s done.” Mateo takes my hand in his and walks us out the door.

We walk into his office hand in hand but I stop as I notice that Thomas and Miakoda aren’t the only ones in the room.  Thomas is sitting on the couch against the wall with Miakoda next to him, but sitting on the other side of Miakoda is Mateo.  I blink and look at the hand that I am holding.  I walked in with Mateo and I can also feel the electric shocks running up my arm so I know damn good and well that MY Mateo is holding my hand but who the hell is that sitting next to Miakoda?

“Who the hell is this and why does he look like me?” Mateo asks Thomas.

“Mateo, this is only an illusion, relax.  I will explain after, I promise.  He is no threat to anyone here.  I promise.  Kirk, would you please proceed as planned?” Thomas says calmly.

The Mateo look-a-like stands and walks slowly to my side.  Mateo’s hand tightens in my own but he doesn’t move.  I am surprised he didn’t step in between us and start growling.

The look-a-like smiles at Mateo and takes my other hand, shifting position so he is mirroring MY Mateo’s position.  I look between the two, comparing facial features and am unable to find a difference.  Both Mateo’s turn their heads and give me the same curious look.

“Cintia, let go of their hands, please.” Thomas asks.

I sigh and remove my hand from theirs.  They both drop their hands to their sides and look back at each other.

“Cintia, would you be so kind as to leave the room for a minute, please?  Do not go far.  In fact, just stand right out side the door and I will come get you in just a minute.”

“Why?  What are you playing at, Thomas?” MY Mateo asks.

“Please, I will explain in just a moment.”

My Mateo steps back to me, pecks me on the cheek and nods his head at the door.

“Don’t worry, love.  I trust him.  Just do as he asks, ok?”

“Oh, fine.  This better be worth it.” I sigh, turn and walk out the door.  I lean against the doorframe and wonder if I will be able to tell the two Mateo’s apart without touching them.

Mateo’s POV

“This better be worth it, Thomas.  Now what is this about?” I growl slightly as I stare at my look-a-like.
