Chapter 11

Katniss' POV:
Our living room is destroyed along with balloons and streamers everywhere. "Hey!" Finnick yells coming over to us. "Join the party!" "What kind of party is this!? You DESTROYED my living room!" "Well they kind of got out of control." He says walking us towards the kitchen where we start to hear the music get louder. "What do you mean they!?" I ask as I step into the kitchen. He doesn't have to explain who "they" are as we all see who he is talking about. There are strippers dancing around on my kitchen table surrounded by a group of Peeta's friends with beer cans all over the floor. "Ok. EVERYBODY OUT!!" I yell pushing every dancing lady off the table. "Not you two!" Johanna says grabbing Finnick and Gale before they can escape. "What is this Gale?" Madge ask "All it is" Gale says escaping Johanna's grip "is a bachelor party for Peeta." "Does Peeta know about this?" "Well....no." "So Finnick where is Peeta?" Annie ask. "Oh he's here somewhere......" "So they are officially drunk." I say "How do you know that?" Annie ask. "Well how can Peeta be here when his car is just pulling into the driveway." I say pointing towards the door. "Finnick. Gale. Sit." Johanna says pushing them down on the couch. As Peeta walks in the door one of the "dancers" kisses him on his cheek. "And what is your-" "AHEM!" I say clearing my throat interrupting him. She continues out the door as Peeta walks into the living room. "Woah! What's going on?" "Oh shouldn't you know?" Johanna says. "Should I?" He says raising his eyebrow at her. "Well I don't know" Madge says "aren't these your two BEST friends?" She says motioning to Gale and Finnick. "I don't know. If they did something stupid they're not." He says laughing along with Finnick and Gale. "What is funny about your house being destroyed!?" I yell. "Well technically it was only the kitchen and living room but carry on." Finnick says. I roll my eyes at him. "Anyway" Annie says "why don't you explain to Peeta what's going on." "Well we were having a party with the guys, beer, and girls if you didn't notice." Gale says taking a sip of beer. "And you didn't invite me?" Peeta says hitting his shoulder. "It was for you!" "And what happened? I'm here now and there's no party." "We are what happened." I say. "Peeta are you drunk? You don't even care about what they did to the house. You just keep making jokes out of everything." "Well all they did was throw me a party." "Peeta! They had strippers dancing on our kitchen table and you don't even care!" I say running upstairs. "Kat!" I hear Madge yell running up the stairs behind me. I go to my room and look at myself in the mirror. I hear a knock on the door and Madge walks in. "Are you ok Kat?" I don't say anything I just keep looking at myself in the mirror. "Madge what am I doing wrong?" I say looking at her. "Kat you're not doing anything wrong. All relationships have problems." "Yeah but Madge-" "Sorry to interrupt a sentimental moment" Johanna says "but we have a problem." We go downstairs and the guys are gone. "Johanna where'd they go!?" I ask. "To some kind of bar! I tried to stop them but they wouldn't listen to me and I didn't really have that much help." "Hey! I helped!" Annie says smacking Johanna on her shoulder. "Yeah. And by the time you got out of that chair they were already outside." Johanna says laughing. "Look we don't have time." I say snapping them back to reality. "Johanna who's car did they take?" "Finnick's." "Ok. Who was driving?" Madge ask worried. "Peeta." "Well they were smart for once today." "Johanna let's take your car." I say handing her her keys. "Fine. Let's go." She says walking outside. We follow behind her climbing into her car. "So where am I going?" Johanna asks "I don't know." I say covering my face with my hands trying to think. "The only bar Peeta know is....." "That one we went to last year for Gale's birthday!!" Madge yells. "Oh yeah." I say as Johanna pulls out of the driveway. We pull up to the bar and see Finnick's car. We go inside and see all three of them lined up next to each other laughing. "Hey ladies! Its nice of you to join the party!" Finnick says. "The party is over Finnick! We're leaving." Annie says pulling him outside. Before Madge can do the same I grab her arm. "Listen Madge. Follow my lead." "What do you mean?" "Well they want a party, let's give them a party." I walk over and sit beside Peeta. He looks at me and smiles. I smile back taking his beer and drinking what's left. I look up at Johanna and she mouths "what are you doing?" I mouth back. "It is a plan." "Ok whatever." She mouths going to go sit by a man in a white T-shirt. "Is someone finally going to enjoy herself?" Peeta says grabbing my hand. "Maybe. Maybe not." I say leaning in to kiss him but turning my head at the last second. "I have a feeling this is gonna be a long night." He says smiling. I push him up onto his feet and drag him onto the dance floor. We dance as he wraps his arms around me kissing my neck. But before I get taken over by his control I push him down into a chair. "Oh Peeta I understand now all you wanted was a party." I say walking around him. "So are you ready for your present?" I say wrapping my arms around his neck from behind. "Sure." He says kissing my hand. I grab a glass of water off the table from behind me and pour the water all over him. He jumps up and stares at me surprised. "Hey Johanna!" I say setting the glass down. "We're ready to go." I say walking towards her along with Madge close behind me.
We get back into Johanna's car including Peeta and Gale and we drive back to our house in silence. I say goodbye to Johanna and Madge before I go inside. I go upstairs and look at myself in the mirror again. I wonder what else will happen. Then I feel arms wrap around my waist and I move away. "Stop. It won't work this time." I say walking over to the bed. "Katniss I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you or make you angry. I just made a stupid decision." He says sitting beside me. I don't say anything. "Katniss what more do you want me to say?" Silence. "Peeta do you love me?" I ask breaking the silence. "Yes. Of course I do." I look up at him. "Well can you act like you do." "What do you mean act like I do? I always show you how much I love you every single day." "Well the last couple of hours tell a different story." "Look Katniss just because I hang out with my friends doesn't mean-" "No Peeta! Stop! Hanging out with your friends is not the problem. Its how stupid you acted." He looks down at his feet. "Peeta we're getting married THIS Saturday. We don't have time for distractions or delays." "I'm not gonna stop hanging out with my friends just because we're getting married." "I'm not saying that." I say grabbing his hand. "I'm saying there's a time to be serious and a time to have fun. We have to have everything ready by Saturday." He looks up and smiles. "You know I really do love you." "I love you too." I say running my hand through his hair. He leans in and kisses me. He still smells of beer but I embrace him anyway.
