Together With Troubles

Chapter 18

Katniss' POV:
Days, weeks, months after our wedding things slowly go back to normal. Peeta goes back to work and I'm stuck at home with morning sickness along with being bored out of my mind. So pretty much the usual. Annie finally had her baby. Now her and Finnick have a little boy named James to worry about. I have a feeling its going to be busy around here soon too. I feel like I could pop any day now. I've been too lazy to do anything lately. I just lay around all day until Peeta comes home. Some days I never make it out of the bed. Is laziness even a sign of pregnancy? I should know. I've been to the doctor a million times. They basically tell me the same thing every time I go. "Your baby is perfectly healthy!", "Have you been having any problems?", "Look how much it's grown since your last visit!", "Any questions?", "See you next time!" Its the same routine every visit. Peeta and I decided to wait until I actually have the baby before we figure out the gender. We want it to be a surprise. Now all it is is playing the waiting game. Waiting to arrive at the hospital, waiting for the baby to be delivered, waiting to find out if its a girl or a boy......but that'll all be over before I know it. Today I actually made it downstairs but my day consists of lying on the couch and watching TV. Just as I'm turning the channel I get that feeling I always get before I throw up. So the next thing I know I'm in the bathroom. As I try to get up and wipe my mouth I feel a sudden jolt of pain rush over me and it stops me from doing anything. At first I don't think too much about it but then my water breaks.

Peeta's POV:
I walk inside the house and find the TV on but Katniss isn't in the room. Maybe she went upstairs for something I think as I make my way over to the stair case. Right before I can leave the room I hear a scream come from the bathroom. "Katniss!" I yell. "Peeta...." She says when she sees me. "Are you ok!?" "Does it look like I'm ok!? My water just broke!" "Come on! We have to get you to the hospital." I say helping her up. We get in the car and I drive as fast as I can to the hospital. I rush her inside as fast I can and then the nurses and doctors take over from there. We're put into a large room where all I hear is screaming and shouting. I grab Katniss' hand as the doctors tell her to push. She squeezes my hand hard and in seconds I hear the beautiful sound of a baby cry. The doctors clean it up and hand it to us. Its a beautiful baby girl.
