A few days had past....no sign of Jess coming home. I was to excited about the room anyway! 'What colour?' Mum asks looking out the window, hoping for Jessica's return. 'Mum try her mobile!' I say. She looks at me,'I have!' She shouts. 'I'm sure she's fine.' I mutter. Mum sighs, 'Anyway, you didn't answer the question, what colour?'
'I'm not sure, maybe a pastel green or something!' I smile.
'That's a nice colour...' Mum replies. Suddenly the landline phone begins to ring. Mum gets up to answer it. 'Yes speaking.' She says to the phone. 'What?!' She cries. 'Is she okay?!' Mum nods her head grabbing her coat and shoes still holding the phone, 'Couldn't you have contacted me sooner,' She shouts 'it doesn't matter, we're coming to the hospital, now,'And with that she slams the phone back down.
'Come on!' She shouts. 'What?!' I ask back, I'm all confused. 'Jessica was hit by a car!' Mum runs out the door forgetting the keys I slip them into my pocket and unlock the car. I hand them to mum. She drives so fast I swear if she's not careful she'll hit someone. Finally we arrive hospital, mum slamming the breaks down and jumping out the car, I do the same. Once we get to Jessica's ward, mum starts crying. A few nurses direct us to jess' bed, where a pale skinned girl is lying there, with a bandage wrapped around her head. Is that supposed to be Jessica? 'You said she was hit by a car!' Mum mumbles angrily, 'well, uh, we believe she could have been actually run over.' The doctor mutters. 'WHAT?!' Mum screams. 'We had to operate on her head, she had a really deep cut, that needed sorting out...' The doctor says calmly. This is all my fault! 'How long does she need to be here?' Mum asks tears forming in her eyes again. 'Well she hasn't woken up yet.' The doctor smiles sympathetically. I burry my head into my hands, this isn't mums fault, it's mine.
