The Journey

Chapter 4

I lay my bike on a nearby tree, and took a seat. The show was about to begin.

"MEGAN! HELP ME!!"

A raccoon sitting on a bench near Joshi was looking rather amused. She also had a bag of popcorn, and was currently snacking on it.

"Nah, it looks like you got this."

"YOU KNOW VERY WELL THAT I DON'T GOT THIS"

"Do I?"

"AT VERY LEAST GET HELP!?!?"

"Nah"

They are a very good team. Much teamwork is used. I sigh and get up.

Might as well help..
I stand in front of Kaen, causing him to turn around and run the other way. Right in front of Joshi. Megan stood up from her seat and walk over. The two finally noticed me and run to meet me.

"Hey Kuro" Joshi said, still panting from her little workout. "Hi" I say waving. I Also take note of what she's wearing, noticing that she wasn't wearing her usual uniform. She wore jeans along with some tennis shoes, which matched her top rather perfectly. Her top was a red, long sleeved shirt that had a dragon on it.

Megan made her way over and greeted me as well. Also, for those who wondering, she was wearing a hooded sweatshirt along with a pair of jeans and boots.

"Quite a show you put on there"

"Yeah, I was pretty awesome"

"Megan you didn't even do anything!"

"Sure I did!"

"OK, what did you do?"

"Moral support, of course~"

"I hate you"

I give a little chuckle at their little argument. After a few more moments of the two arguing, Joshi suggested that we should head over to the Anzen Cafe down the road. Me and Megan agreed. I found Fenikkusu, and hopped on top of my bike. Joshi decided to take her pet dragon, Rubi, while Megan went the old fashion way and took her bike as well.

As Joshi flew over head, Megan and I talked about how if she were a exit sign and someone entered the door from behind, how would it end up. After this, we talked numerous things, like if a speck ate the whole world or if the hunters and humans came once more onto our land. We talked for a while, until we reached our destination. Of course, Joshi beat us there, so it meant me or Megan would have to buy. I look up at the sky.

About noon....maybe I can get Megan or Joshi to give me a ride home.....

We step inside, only to see a a face I've seen many times.

"Grandpa?!?"

"Oh Kuro, I didn't think you'd still be here. I thought you would be well on the road home. It is a long way to Tamashi.."

I let out a nervous chuckle. Then, Joshi stepped in.

"Sorry we've kept her so long sir, but she only arrived late last night." Joshi said, never breaking eye contact, while nudging Megan to help her out. Megan finally took the hint and spoke up.

"Y-Yes sir, she looked very tired, so we allowed her to said the night"

My grandpa smiled and said "Very well, but as a token of kindness please allow me to buy you something." Joshi and Megan both nodded their heads. My grandpa handed them a few dollars and walked away, after petting Fenikkusu's head. I could have sworn I heard him say "Such nice children"

After ordering, sat and started to chat. Another friend of ours, Jasumin, came out and started to talk as well. She was a tiger dressed in a purple sweater and scarf, along with some skinny jeans and winter boots to go with it. After a few strange conversations, it turned 2, and for some odd reason the news came on. This caught all of our attention.

Breaking news. Tamashi district and half of Ichiba district are being attacked. Seek shelter immediately. Hunters are prowling right now. Take shelter now.

"Um Joshi...Aren't the stables in that district?"

"Yeah....."

"And isn't that where Kuro lives...."

"......Yes"
