Chapter Seventeen

So, I attempted to leave Chapter Sixteen on a sort of cliff hanger. I know that it was pretty obvious what Nikki did and that was purposely but I also wanted to leave things a bit edgy, ya get me? Anyway, I'll stop blabbering - hope you like! :D

Nathan's POV

'I forgive you, it's fine. Let's just... Forget about it.' Nikki whispered.

I felt like she had just ripped my heart out, thrown it on the floor, stomped on it then thrown it back at my face. She forgave him? After everything?! I actually felt like she liked me, she kissed me and I felt sparks fly - I thought she did too but now I guess not.

'Are you freakin' stupid, Nikki?!' I yelled 'You forgive him?! You actually FORGIVE him?! Because he asked you to? Yeah, you're totally not a pushover.'

'I'm not a pushover so shut up, Nathan. I don't care what you think, you can't control me so just stop trying to!' Nikki yelled back at me.

'Oh,' I raised my eyebrows, 'Control you? You're mental. You're a mental freak. You kiss me -'

'You two kissed?!' Ty interrupted but Nikki and I both ignored him.

'Make me feel like you actually like me and now what? You forgive Ty, you two'll go on another freaking date and then you'll be the perfect couple. Oh yay, congratulations Nikki - you finally get the guy you want, you finally get the happy ending. I'll just go and cry myself to sleep yet again because of you but for a different reason than usual. This time it'll be as I think about the relationship we ALMOST had.' I turned and stormed off. I stamped over to the football match that was taking place in the middle of the field and sat down next to Logan.

'Alrigh' mate?' He grinned up at me.

I sat down next to him and hugged my knees, 'Just perfect.'

'What happened over there?' Logan signalled over to where Nikki was standing, now she'd disappeared.

I sighed, 'Ty.'

Logan grunted, 'Nikki?'

'She's gonna go for him, mate, and forget all about me...'

'I can tell she likes yo-'

'If she liked me, she wouldn't forgive Ty. Do you not remember how obsessed she was with him? Do you not remember how in love she was? Do you not realise that he doesn't feel the same? Can you not see that he will just play her? I want her to be mine. I want her to myself. Ty's going to ruin everything - he already has...'

Logan leaned back, 'Where's Nikki now?'

I shrugged, 'Beats me. Probably hooking up with Ty.'

'Don't say that dude. I can tell by the way she looks at you that she likes you, Nathan. She kissed you, that's gotta mean something. I hate to burst your bubble but you're in love.'

'I'm not in love, Logan, I just have strong feelings towards her.' I leaned back and sheilded my eyes from the sun.

'You are, you're in love with Nikki. Do you remember when you told me that you two had kissed? You were so happy, so glad that it'd finally happened - you're in love with her and you need to show her that because storming away won't get you anywhere.'
