Sorry I haven't updated for ages - enjoy <3
'She's asleep.'
I grunted. I just wanted to see my mother but, no, I couldn't even get a peek at her face because the nurse that was looking after her was a right old bitch. Seriously, she looked like the type of person who was always grumpy and strict - I'm pretty sure she couldn't take a joke, something about her tone made me feel that her sense of humour wasn't quite there.
'Shh!' She spat at me. Her beady eyes narrowed at me, her thin lips a straight line, 'You'll wake her up with that elephant grunt.'
Charming.
I resisted the urge to snap back at her. Instead, I settled for my best glare. The nurse glared back at me - she obviously wanted to play the glaring game. Mature. I narrowed my eyes so much that I was practically closing them, my glare no longer a glare; more of a OTT squint.
The nurse pointed a thin finger with an extremely long, pointed nail at me, 'don't start playing games with me because you'll lose.'
I crossed my arms across my chest and rolled my eyes, 'I'd just like to see my mother. Is that too much to ask?'
'No.' A voice said from behind the nurse, 'It's not.'
The nurse spun around and I stood on tip-toes, trying to see over her shoulder who had spoken. I recognised the voice but couldn't quite put my finger on who it belonged to. Annoying, right?
'Oh!' The nurse's voice had changed, dramatically. She'd spoken to me in a snappy, grumpy, sarcastic tone whereas now it was almost like... She was smiling?! 'You're awake! Of course.' She moved to the side, allowing me to see my mum. She was sat in the hospital bed, white nightie on and her brown hair in a messy bun.
'Mum!' I exclaimed. I walked over and gave her a gentle hug before sitting down in the visitor's chair.
'You alright?' She smiled back at me.
I considered telling her about everything that had happened at school; Ty, Nathan, those two... Then, quickly, decided against it and plastered a big, fake grin on my face, 'I'm great, thanks.' I lied, 'More to the point, how are you?'
I hated lying to my mum but ranting about how complicated my life was just wasn't an option. My boy trouble was nothing compared to her problems. I could imagine how boring it must be for her, having to sit in a hospital bed, wires attatched to her heart and this really annoying beeping heart moniter thingy right by her head.
'Well,' she smiled, 'if all goes well this week, I'm going to be allowed to come home this Friday!'
My jaw dropped.
We spent roughly an hour squelling like middle school girls who just found out that One Direction had updated their twitter status's. We then spent another hour just talking about anything. Then it was my time to leave, visitoring time was over.
I stood up reluctantly and pecked mum's forehead, 'I love you mum...' I whispered.
She reached out a shaky arm and her fingers touched mine, 'Love you too, sweetie.'
Then the nurse ushered me out and our finger tips were no longer touching. I walked out the hospital with mixed emotions. It was heart breaking having to leave my mum in a dull hospital but then again I was super thrilled that she was coming back on Friday, if all goes well...

The day flew by and, before I knew it, it was 5:49 and I hadn't even started getting ready for mine and Ty's date. I switched on my curlers and, whilst I waited for them to reach temperature, I picked and put on my outfit. Then, I put on a small amount of mascara on and added a bit of red Baby Lips colour to my lips. I then curled my hair and stared at my reflection. I was wearing a plain white, long t-shirt, a black short skirt, a black cardigan, a pattern black and white scarf and white pumps. Very black and white, I know. No judging.
