Hope You Enjoy!

"Why is Jace staring at you?" Shrieks Sandra while glaring at Jace. I turn around to face him, and his gaze was faced right towards me. I grab my chemistry books out of my locker and walk over to him.

"Hey, I have a question. Why are you staring at me so hard? It's kinda creepy." I look into his golden eyes as they are skimming over my face.

"What do you mean? I was not staring at you." A smirk is forming on his face. My eyes narrow in on him.

I stand on my tippy toes to whisper in his ear. "Okay, well next time try not to make it so noticeable."

-------

I have no time to think about boys, especially not if I'm going to pass my chemistry test. I have enough trouble on my own without boys cluttering all the space in my head. Truth is I couldn't stop thinking about Jace.

"Alyssa, what are you thinking about?" Sandra questions me as if she could read my mind. "Please don't tell me your thinking about Jace."

"I am not thinking about Jace!" I lied. She didn't seem to notice, which is surprising considering that Sandra has been my best friend since 5th grade.

Sandra is sitting on the edge of my bed, her eyes practically plastered to her phone, which isn't any surprise. Sandra comes over a lot and her precious little cell phone is like a boyfriend to her. She barely ever puts her phone down and she takes it everywhere with her.

I stand up to turn on my radio, but before I got there the door bell rang. Sandra rushed to answer the door, as always. She has an obsession with opening the door at my house. I followed her down the hallway and into the living room. The door opens to bring my moms best friend into sight, behind her is her son, the one an only Jace Hill.

"Hello, Sandra. It's always a pleasure to see you." She leans over, she is looking at me with a smile. "Alyssa, is your mom home? I tried calling but she didn't answer. I didn't want to stop by without talking to your parents but it was urgent."

"Come on in." I gesture for Mrs. Hill to step inside. Jace follows her inside trying to avoid all eye contact with me. "Do you want anything to drink?" I offer Sarah, also known as Mrs. Hill, and Jace.

"Oh, no thank you. I should only be here a second."

Right as those words escape her lips my phone rings, it's my mom. I glance down at my phone before I swipe the screen to answer the call. "Hi mom. Sarah is here, she tried calling you but you didn't answer."

"Let me talk to her honey."

I hand the phone to Mrs. Hill. I try not to be nosy and listen to part of the conversation.

I glance over at Jace, who is sitting beside his mother twirling his fingers together. Why does he seem so nervous? He acts like he doesn't know any of us. Maybe he is embarrassed about this morning.

"So your mom said that it would be okay if Jace stayed for about 2 weeks while we are out of state for my husbands job interview. As long as it is okay with you of course?" Jace glares at me, probably thinking that it won't be okay with me. I flash him a quick smile then turn to his mother.

"Of course I don't mind. Welcome to my home Jace."
