They look great. Both the vampire and werewolf look better than the last time I saw them. Harry obviously never got a haircut because his locks now reach past his shoulders. He definitely got taller as he towers on the vampire standing to his right. His once pale eyes transformed into the color of an evergreen forest. The werewolf's arms are more defined and underneath his floral button shirt I can make out the worn out leather sheath holding his weapon of choice: a wooden hunting knife dipped in silver with Latin inscriptions on the blade. As for the vampire, there weren't any noticeable changes except his persona containing more roughness. His blue-grey eyes became more dull yet the red flecks floating in his iris sharpened throughout the years, creating a more evil look.
"So what do you guys have for me?" I question.
Harry and Louis look at each other again before Louis slips off his backpack and unzips it.
Louis replies, "Finding out about the Morbus guy was way too easy." He hands me a folder. "Was the assignment as easy as getting all of this?"
"Of course it was. Idiot did all the wrong things," I snort out. I open the folder and I am presented with previous medical records, school disciplinary reports and all sorts of other paperwork. I widen my eyes at all the information Louis and Harry were able to collect. Impressive, just like before.
"Where did you get all of this?" I jokingly question. Louis rolls his eyes, resulting in Harry letting out a booming laugh.
"Honestly, Liam. Just because you haven't seen us doesn't mean we've been out of work." I shake my head and smirk down at the files. Of course they would keep themselves busy.
"How has his condition been so far?" I press.
"His condition is pretty stable. You must've done a number on him because the only times he ever leaves the house are for school and church," Louis responds. I silently chuckle afterwards. Serves him right.
"He still has his broken arm, but at his last visit to the hospital the doctor said it was almost healed. The only problem is that he constantly is asking about a guy in all black with black eyes and how he stabbed him neck," the vampire continues. It takes so much in me to not burst out in laughter. Oh, humans and their weak psyches.
"And doctors and others just assumed that his accusations of this someone doing this to him have no basis?" I ask while continuing to scan through the file.
"Not quite." I look up and see Harry lazily waddling around in circles with his hands clasped behind his back. I smile, remembering that he always did that while trying to deduce something. "Around his freshman year, he started getting into drugs, so yes most of the time people dismissed most of what he said as hearsay, but the doctors ran several blood tests to make sure if there was any hTc and there weren't any traces." Harry stops his waddle and stares directly into my eyes with his emerald green ones, almost questioning me.
"And so," Louis interjects, "because he kept saying that there was this guy wearing all black, they've been trying to find him, but he's in the wind." Louis smirks and gives me a mocking look of desperation. I smirk back.
"The police are only investigating what caused the fire since Chris did not do anything to even start a flame. You don't have to worry about that though because he can't even describe what happened that night except the guy he apparently saw. The doctors are associating that with his large amount of smoke inhalation. Besides, none of the neighbors who were there that night ever mentioned anything about a guy other than Chris in their interviews."
Great. "Do you think he'll talk?" I ask while throwing the folder back at Louis. A hand reaches out and Harry smoothly tucks the folder back in Louis's backpack.
