Sorry if the constant time jumps are confusing. It's supposed to be like that because I sort of want it to be like a puzzle. I promise that it will all make sense. Anyway enjoy!

Looking back is not an option. It never will be. Sickness starts to storm and brew in the pit of my stomach and bile threatens to climb my throat. But I have to push it down. I look down and I almost cry out in relief when I still feel my angel in my arms. Regardless of the fact that he is unconscious. Poor baby. He has seen too much. He's been thrusted into the world of danger. The world of the night. My world. And in that aspect I failed in my promise.

That weighs my heart down until it almost drops to the ground. First, I make him upset. I make him cry. Now, I involuntarily drag my angel, my flower into my world. And that is a sin that I can never get forgiveness for. A sin that no amount of penance can cleanse.

I turn around with my angel in my arms. My eyes catch the destruction in front of me. The sickness returns. I'm sure the fiery orange reaching for the stars and surrounding oxygen burns in my eyes. Disgusting. That's the only word I can use to describe the sight in front of me. Fire spreading no longer horizontally and increasing its radius but upwards. Maybe it is just a figment of my imagination but singed bodies of the patrons and workers of the restaurant in front of me are as clear as day. Glass and pieces of paper and other flammable items reducing to ash surround the chaotic remains of the building. All of those people. Dead.

"Liam!" I turn my head to the side and catch the glints of worry in forest-green and grey-blue irises. Harry. Louis. I breathe out a sigh of relief when I see the werewolf and vampire. A few scratches and some smoking burn marks but other than that the four of them are fine. Wait, there should be five.

"Where's Zayn?"

Immediately, Louis and Harry look around frantically with me doing the same. Suddenly, I see two flashes run past the hot flames. The dark scent of danger and an unknown yet familiar stench flit through my nose. Snapping my head to the side, I see the wide-eyed looks of realization sinking deep in the vampire and werewolf. Their stances become hunched, their weight suddenly balanced on the balls of their feet. However, I subconsciously shake my head. There is just no way in hell that I am allowing Louis or Harry to be the one to punch and kick some answers out of the panther.

Walking over to the now red-eyed vampire, I extend my arms out. Almost immediately, Louis and Harry's expressions dance over to the blonde angel in my arms. Confusion seeps through them but I still persist.

"Take him back to my house and stay there until I come back. Zayn is mine."

Harry has almost no time to react when I place my angel in his arms. But Louis immediately gives his nod of confirmation. I nod back and turn in the direction of the running shapeshifter.

I wake up with a jolt. My body springs up from the bed, sweat pouring down my face. I bring my hand up to my hair, not once giving a care about the damp greasy feeling suddenly on my skin. My brown eyes flit back and forth with blatant disorientation. Everything in the room is blurry. The fuzzy lines slowly become sharp and somehow so does my recollection. And I'm bombarded with everything. Niall. Zayn. Harry and Louis. Alcohol. The dream.

I quickly shake my head. None of it could have been cognitive. That had to have been the alcohol coursing through my veins. Yeah. It had to be. Because there is no Cheryl. She's dead. And even if she was alive, she can't know anything. None of it is true.
