With this chapter my pre-written works come to a close so the updates won't be everyday. But don't worry, I'll try to update as soon as possible. Enjoy!
                              ----------
After about five minutes of walking, Zayn and I finally reach the cabin. And Louis is right. The place looks abandoned. Broken windows and the stench of molding wood permeating the surrounding air. And no lights on the inside which is a little weird. I wasn't expecting some sort of grandiose entourage but some demons standing outside to watch would've been ideal.
"Where are Louis and Harry?" Zayn asks.
I'm about to shrug, but a large rough hand clamps over my mouth. I hear a muffled sound of protest on my left and I know that someone has Zayn. Suddenly, my body gets pulled back towards the tree line. Where the fuck are Harry and Louis? Whoever is dragging me is pretty strong. We make it somewhere just inside of the foliage. Within seconds, the person dragging me stops. Then they throw me to the floor.
A growl rips through my throat. Dark raw energy travels to my hand and combusting sparks tick near my fingertips. A crimson red fire surrounds my hand. I turn while bringing my arm back ready to throw the fireball. Only I'm met with disappointment.
"Come on, boss," Harry says with a glint of mischief. And for a moment, the flame decreases to the size of an ember. But suddenly right behind him, the large plants ruffle and shake. I extend my hand back once again, but the werewolf steps right in front of me.
                              "Relax, Liam. It's ju-"
"It's just me," an airy voice interrupts, causing me to groan. Seconds later, Louis emerges from the bushes. With his hand over Zayn's mouth and dragging the writhing shapeshifter through the dirt.
"And I happen to be carrying this heavy motherfucker." With a forced grunt, he heaves Zayn off of him and to the floor. If I wasn't so angry with Harry hauling me away from the cabin, then maybe I would have let out a chuckle.
Zayn immediately jumps up and brushes off the dust collected on his clothes.
"That's what muscle does to you, skinny bitch," the raven-haired boy growls out. Now that earns a chuckle from me. Harry crosses his arms and raises his eyebrows in amusement while Louis just rolls his eyes.
"Oh, please. Regardless of how much you gain I'm still better than you," the vampire snaps back. Harry's face immediately turns red and he bites down hard on his bottom lip so that he doesn't blow our cover. Zayn's snarl slowly turns into a smirk as he shoves his hands in his pockets and nods his head slightly.
"Still got that bitchy humor?" Zayn questions. Louis flashes a toothy smile.
                              "Still got that bitchy humor."
My eyes soften and a tiny smile creeps onto my lips. This is the kind of banter and interaction that I've missed. And in that moment, I allow everything to return back to the way it was. Before everything went crazy. Before all of this animosity. When we were just killing and sinning without any thought. Without any repercussions.
But I immediately shake my head of those thoughts. Because it will never go back to the way it was. Not until Zayn can confidently tell us what happened after what he did. Not until I can guarantee that Niall's safety is untouchable. Which means that we need to finish this mission and see what these low level demons have on the Big Man's most precious things.
I clear my throat and just like that the vampire, werewolf and panther stop chuckling and reminiscing about old times. Their expressions become sharp, the aloof atmosphere replaced with the thick dangerous waves of concentration. Scanning the faces of all three boys, I smirk with some teeth poking through. The blood red dots starting to dance around and mix with Louis's storm cloud grey-blue. The consecutive pop of bones when Harry jerks his head side to side. The yellow glow much similar to a full moon instead of Zayn's honey-colored eyes. And my eyes will almost have no more white. This type of camaraderie - this sudden sync in our minds - is something we've been waiting for for a long time.
