Introduction

    A year and a half ago,
I sat by the campfire that me and my foster brother made. Logan was not only my foster brother he was my bestfriend. After my real parents had died on a skiing trip, the Smith's my dad's coworkers family took me in. We had a forest in back of our house that me and Logan would run off to to have a camp outs and late night stories. Tonight meant the most to me because he was going to South America for a few years to do volunteer work. Logan always the poster boy for goodwill, I kind of envied him.

"You gonna roast the marshmallow or are you going to gaze into that fire all night ". He joked and smiled at me.

I flipped him the finger and smiled then turned the stick in the fire. "I was just reminiscing about stuff. I'm gonna really miss you your the only one who gets me."

Logan turned his stick and sighed. "I know baby sis but your going to be fine. You have mom and dad plus Toby."

Toby was our golden retriever but he was more like Logan's dog because he listened to him more. I pulled the stick out and blew it. I got up and sat next to him while blowing my marshmallow. "Promise that you'll write to me as much as you can."

He turned to me and chuckled then put out his pinky finger. "I pinky promise."

I looped my pinky in his then we blew into it then both laughed. It started to get chilly as the night went on and that was the last time we spoke since he left.

Present Day,
Now a days I just mope around the house when I'm not going to school. I would still continue our tradition with Toby and tell him stories like my brother did. There was one in particular that I would always beg him to tell me even when we were younger. My dog laid lazily with his body sprawled out over my leg and covered his face with a paw.
There was once a girl named Megan, she was princess of Natavia a small land with many rivers. As Megan got older she grew tired of the isolation of her castle and ventured out into the wilderness. She came across a wizard who was young and handsome. He instantly took a fancy to her and showed her his secrets of magic. One day they came across another wizard who had fallen for Megan's beauty and became jealous of the other wizard. The evil wizard came up with a plan. He had the other wizards home attacked then took Megan for himself. When the other wizard found out he was furious and challenged the evil wizard in magic. They battled furiously until the good wizard was the only one standing. Megan ran to him and they embraced. She looked up at his face. "I thought I lost you." He looked into her eyes. "I will always protect you." The End.

I looked down at Toby he was fast asleep. I smiled and gently placed him on his side then laid next to him.
