After the altercation I sat by the window thinking about things. These people are putting their lives on the line for me. I can't let Tristan get hurt because of me. There was a knock on the door. I looked and it opened slightly. Cassie walked in her usually free flowing hair was in a high ponytail. She changed into a leather corset and pants.
"Hey kiddo.." She leaned against the doorframe.
"Hey Cassie. I messed stuff up pretty bad huh?"
"You kidding ever since you came Tristan has had a reason to fight for aside for the city. Plus your like the sister I never had." Cassie smiled and crossed her arms.
"I'm just so confused, I love it here but I miss my family back home too." I looked back outside.
"It's your choice, we can try to find a way for you to go back home. Tristan will be hurt but he will understand." Cassie replied.
I opened the locket of me and my foster brother. I wish you were here Logan. I have to go see Tristan before I make a decision. I got up and walked out into the hallway. She followed. "I believe he's in the observatory. That's all the way towards the end."
"Thanks." I hugged her then ran down the hall.
I stopped once I reached the double doors and took a deep breath. Tristan was standing in the center with orbs circling around him. I walked slowly and started to feel the strong energy again. The orbs transformed into light circling around him. I watched in amazement as he manipulated the light as it surged through his fingertips.
"Tristan". I said in a low voice.
He turned and the light dissipated. "Sam.."
"I just needed to talk to you. " I bit my lip and wrapped my arms around myself.
"Are you ok?" He asked concerned and walked up to me.
I swear that he must have been using magic on me because my eyes couldn't focus. Not to mention he was obviously hot, his looks just weren't normal. It looked like heaven itself carved him into perfection. He was dressed in a black t-shirt with leather pants and motorcycle boots.
"I was considering going back."
He tilted his head then backed up. "How stupid of me to think you want to stay."
"It's not like that I just miss my brother that's all. But a part of me is torn because I want to stay...." I could feel tears building up.
He walked to me and stared at me with those piercing eyes. I could slowly feel all the barriers I had put up slowing falling. Not even Logan could get past certain barriers. As I looked into his eyes I could see many tales of sadness. I pressed my hands against his chest and tiptoed until our lips met. He hesitated at first then pressed his lips to mine. Instantly I felt a spark and our electricity exploded in our bodies. He held me closer to his body and my body perfectly fit into his.
Suddenly the whole observatory started to shine in a bright light. Some of the guardians that were watching over the tower got up and looked in awe. Flashbacks of the times we spent together went through my mind. Cassie who was walking with Liam stopped midstep. Liam looked up "What is that?"
I felt through his hair and he deepened the kiss and pressed me against the wall. Our fingers interlocked and our bodies glowed brighter. I lifted a leg up and threw back my head as he kissed my neck and held me closer. A few minutes later he broke the kiss and looked at me. "What just happened?"
"I don't know." I replied trying to catch my breath.
He backed up then looked at me strange. I looked back at him confused. "What's wrong?"
"Your aura is turning colors, but that would make you a holder of light..." Tristan looked shocked.
I looked at my body then put out my hands and they started to illuminate. Little swirls of light came from my fingertips. I smiled and looked back at him. He touched my hand and little energy orbs formed. He put out his hand and a ethereal light formed from his fingertips. "Don't go..." He whispered.
Cassie and Liam opened the double doors. "Where did that come from?" Cassie looked at us.
Tristan stayed silent and looked at me. Cassie looked my direction in disbelief. Liam walked up to me and gently took my hand. He looked as if was searching for something. "She has the gift of light like in the scriptures. A vessel will appear with mysterious powers and a battle will begin, the kingdoms will bow to her reign."
"Are you saying that I'm some mystical princess?" I said in disbelief.
"It all makes sense now...Caspian wants you to be his queen so he can control your power." Cassie explained.
Tristan stood with his arms crossed trying to process the situation. I looked at him. "Tristan say something."
He looked at me with a worried look. I walked to him. "Tristan your scaring me. Say something." Liam looked at Tristan with concern. "How did this happen? I mean her powers awaken."
Cassie looked at us both. Liam crossed his arms and looked at Tristan. "I kissed him." I answered and Cassie covered her mouth.
Suddenly I heard footsteps and looked at the door. Kayla stood there looking hurt. "Kayla.." I whispered.
"How could you?" Kayla ran away.
Everyone looked at each other. "I'll get her." Liam said then ran after her.
I bit my lip then started walking out the observatory. Tristan went after me as I quickly walked down the hallway. Cassie walked out and closed the double doors. I quickly picked up speed and Tristan started to run after me. "Sam!"
Don't look back just keep walking.
"Sam." He grabbed my arm and I looked at him with hurt in my eyes.
"You made a fool of me." I said coldly then pulled my arm away.
He stepped back and dropped his arms. "I never lied to you, I am not lying to you now. Me and Kayla are just friends but she doesn't want to believe it. I had nothing to fight for until I met you. I have been waiting forever to find you." He looked at me with pleading eyes and exhaled.
I covered my mouth, my emotions began to run wild. I turned away and held myself. He walked up to me but didn't attempt to touch me. "I love you Sam."
I slowly turned around and looped my arms under him then he drew me close. Later we walked to his room and laid on his bed. I buried my face into his chest taking in his scent he smelled like lavender. I wish we could be like this forever just looking into each other's eyes and nothing else would matter. His eyes just looked over me as his hair was sprawled across the pillow. He lifted his head and carefully took off his necklace, it was a amethyst stone attached to black string. I sat up and gently touched it. "My mother told me to give it someone special." He put it around my neck.
" It's beautiful...I'll never take it off." My eyes started to get heavy .
"Rest up princess we might have to prepare for battle tomorrow. If I know Morgana she loves a good fight." Tristan kissed my head and wrapped his arms around me.
