Later on that night we walked around the grounds of the castle. Tristan had changed into a shirt with a leather vest showing his tattoos. "What is exactly is this place?" I asked walking rubbing my arm.
"This place was discovered by the elders. No one knows exactly where they came from there's been many theories. They formed civilizations and mythical were created. We all have places and purpose. Some of us were made to protect the realm. Others build things, we have gathers and physicians." Tristan explained.
I turned to him "What are you and what is your purpose?"
"I'm a guardian I was made to protect this world and it's people." Tristan replied looking out to the city.
"Ohh". I walked to the corner of the roof.
"The question is who are you and how is it that you got here?" Tristan placed his hands on the edge of the roof.
"I come from a place where there is no magic but dreams. People live, love and grow old then die. This place only exists in people's imaginations. My parents died when I was young and I was raised by a foster family. As for how I got here I think your elders created a pathway between our worlds. This place is so beautiful and I almost don't want to go back." I replied and looked at him.
The night just felt so right, like I had been waiting for this forever. Tristan looked back at me as if he was reading my mind. He walked over to me. "Do you trust me?"
Even though we just met it was like our souls knew each other in another lifetime. I walked up to him. "Yes".
He put his hand out for me to take and my heart started to beat fast. I took his hand and we disappeared. I closed my eyes and took a deep breathe then opened them. We were in the forest at night it was so beautiful. Their moon reflected off the ocean making it sparkle. He looked at me and smiled as I ran through the grass. Little lights started to lift from the ocean and illuminated the castle in the distance. Tristan opened his hand and a orb formed with little fluorescent lights flowed through it. I looked at it and smiled then he passed it to me. It felt so warm and full of energy.
"Whisper your deepest joy and it will manifest." Tristan said in a low voice.
I closed my eyes and the orb transformed the forest it started to glow. White doves flew a circle around us then headed towards the ocean. Tristan watched in awe as my hair started to flow and my body was consumed by a beautiful energy. Some of the guardians watched from the distance and pointed. By instinct I lifted the orb and the energy illuminated the night sky. Tristan moved his hand in a circle rhythm and a strong wind formed and his hair lifted from his head making a golden halo around him. I slowly walked to him and the wind consumed us both and we started to laugh.
The next morning I woke up in a large bed that was draped by beautiful tapestry of white and gold. I rubbed my eyes and sat up, my outfit was changed into a gold and white laced night gown. I looked on the side of me clothes were sitting in a chair neatly in the corner. I went into the bathroom and washed up then changed into the crop top with leather jeans. I opened the door and looked around. Cassie was walking around with a black hood and placing weapons into their holders.
"Hey Cassie, what's going on?"
She looked at me caught off guard. "Oh hey Sam, nothing just going on daily patrol. There was news of a breach near the protection wall. Me and Tristan are going to check it out."
I stepped into the hallway. "Can I come with?"
"I don't think it's a good idea if something happens Tristan will kill me." Cassie joked.
"Please!! I promise not to get in the way." I begged.
Cassie crossed her arms over her chest then laughed "Okay, okay let's go."
She gave me a hood and I fastened it on. As we walked the girl with the long blonde hair passed by us. She stopped midway her hair resting in a braid over her bosom.
"Where are you two going?""Sam this is Kayla , she is one of our best welders. She can take any enchanted metal and make it into a weapon." Cassie explained.
Kayla gave a impatient look waiting for Cassie to answer. I looked between the two of them. "Does Tristan know you are taking her out the city walls?"
Cassie stepped up to Kayla and wind started to pick up in the hallway. Other guardians started to look. "Umm guys it's not that serious?"
Cassie finally backed down and took my hand. I took a deep breath and followed behind Cassie. We walked down the halls and she pushes opened the double doors. Tristan stood wearing his hood and stood near what looked like a motor bike. It had the face of a horse and blew out smoke. Tristan lifted a brow and looked at Cassie as we walked up.
"Cassie what is Sam doing here?"
Before Cassie could speak and walked to him. "
"Don't blame her I begged her to come. I can't just sit in the castle all day while you guys are out."Tristan shook his head and jumped on his bike and threw his cape back and put on his helmet. It was welded in gold with a Celtic design. "Sit behind me."
I got on behind him and held on. Cassie got on her Trojan horse and started up the engine. The bikes roared to life and we rode outside the castle walls. We were at the edge of the forest where the invisible protection rune ended. Cassie got off her bike and walked to wear their was a hole. Tristan got off his bike and walked to where Cassie was kneeling.
"Here's where the problem is." Cassie waved her hand and the protection shield became visible.
Tristan pulled out his blade and looked around for anything suspicious. Suddenly I heard something in the trees.
"Tristan I hear something." I looked around.
Cassie continued on repairing the shield and Tristan walked towards me and looked around. "Stay close Sam. How much longer Cassie?!"
Cassie ran her hand over the spot and it was almost closed. "Almost there Tristan."
Tristan got into position and I stood behind him looking around. Suddenly we were surrounded by Minotaurs
