CHAPTER 13

SANTANA LOPEZ

"Sorry for being a bummer at work. I just needed to get out of that lab after finding out that my wife had already replaced me." Santana leaned on the post next to Barry's table—which was unnecessarily untidy—as Barry did his work. "Plus your brother isn't answering his phone. He must be in court."

Barry looks up at her distractedly. "My brother, yes. It's kind of weird saying that since I never really had one until twenty years later."

"I bet he didn't even know either. When we were in high school, he was pretty obnoxious that he was screaming only child." Santana crossed her arms together. She was reliving high school now—even after what happened.

"I didn't know you two went to school together." Barry moved towards this red box object holding a test tube with some orangey sample. Santana followed so she could look in closer. She watched as Barry places the orange sample into a compartment of the red box and as Barry flips the switch, it doesn't work. "Maybe it's out of battery?" Santana implies.

Barry gazes at Santana after slapping the red box twice before looking at the orange sample and smiles wickedly. Santana immediately reads his mind. "Do it Allen." She smiled back.

Barry held the orange sample delicately and uses his super speed to shake the sample at fifty seconds per second or however that goes, Santana thought. She watched his hand completely disappear because of his speed. Once satisfied, Barry stops and looks at the sample, blood had appeared in the submerged test tube and she was just as amazed as the look on Barry's face.

"That's so awesome." Barry stands and Santana follows like a lab rat, gods she wished she was at least having a drink with one of Sebastian's collection of expensive wine. Suddenly, Barry falters, almost tripping over his feet and using his arms against his table to balance his weight.

"Whoa. Are you feeling okay?" Right as Santana asked that, she enters a vision. She sees a man in black wearing a mask over his face and suddenly there were six of them, all-looking alike. Santana couldn't distinguish where they were but it looked like an event and everyone was surrendering their jewelry to the man who stood near the doors. Obviously the leader.

Santana returns back into reality and heaves a big breath, huffing for more as if all the air had been sucked out of her body for the vision and her headaches were coming back. "Ugh. I hate when that happens."

"What happens?" She hears a woman enter the lab and Barry was still huffing for his breath as well, leaning on his arms on his table just as he was before Santana entered her vision. "Hi, I'm Iris West." She puts her hands out and Santana looks at it, contemplating if she's ready to see another vision of a person without collapsing from the other one.
