It makes sense to think that at some point or another, Newt probably had anxiety attacks. So when I stumbled across this, it makes sense that I thought of him. It got me thinking, if Newt knew this trick what would he choose to help with grounding.
I played around with the idea a bit... also what might possibly be going through his mind as he did it.
5 things you can see: Homestead, Walls, Garden, Box, Alby... He was trapped, but it was home and this was family.
4 things you can touch: Grass, Maps, Vines, Window... The glass was cool and the Maze was dark.He shuddered. (like the one Thomas looked through in the book)
3 things you can hear: Cows, Frypan making dinner in the kitchen, Minho's voice... his voice was always so obnoxious, yet comforting.
2 things you can smell: Manure from the garden, Dinner... he was actually kind of hungry
1 thing you can taste: Blood... he was biting his lip and hadn't even realized it.
I'll be honest and say this isn't my favorite thing I've written but it was fun to play with in my head. I'll try to post again soon, hopefully with something about Minho. I have a theory... *evil grin*
