Three Weeks Later...

It's official. It's been a month and a day since I met John and I can honestly say I've never felt so much hate for somebody in my life.
Hate is a strong word but I don't know how else to describe how much I wish I never met him.
This relationship or whatever it is that I have with John needs to stop. He's getting too attached to telling me to do shit and I'm starting to get used to doing it.
I don't like that.
He sends me text and I don't even know how he got my number. He expects me to go places with him and drop everything I'm doing like I don't have a fucking life too.
I'll stop. Today is not the day to be complaining. Lexi has been looking forward to Thanksgiving since the beginning of November and I don't want to ruin her day because I'm in my feelings as always.
I peeked my head around Lexi's door and saw her hide something brown under the bed when she saw me.
"Whatcha doin'? " I asked, looking at her suspiciously.
"Nothing." she said, smiling.
I raised me eyebrow. "Okay. Get dressed, we're going to breakfast."
"Yay!" she cheered, jumping up.
"Hurry." I called while closing the door.
Five minutes later, I was dressed in a sweatshirt, sweatpants and a pair of black converse and Lexi was struggling into her brown boots.
"You got it?" I asked her.
"Yesss." she said, still trying to put her boot on. I pulled a jacket out of her closet and helped her into.
"Let's go."
"Wait!" she shouted, running back to her room. She came out with two brown construction paper hats... I think.
"What's that?" I asked.
"A Inian hat." she smiled giving, the bigger construction paper "Indian" hat to me. "I made it for you."
She stood on a chair and fit the hat on my head while I put her's on top of her wild curls. I smiled.
"Thank you, Minnie Mouse."
"Your welcome." she cheesed. I held her hand and locked the door behind us as we started walking to the bus stop.
"Where we going?" Lexi asked.
"Chick-fli-A."
"Chickie!" she shouted and I laughed. She could never figure out how to say "Chick-fil-A" so she just calls it "Chickie".
"Chickie, Chickie, Chickie, Chickie, Chickie, Chickie, Chickie!" she sang, skipping on the sidewalk.
I shook my head and laughed again when her "Inian hat" fell off.
"Your hat, Lexi." she patted her hair and realized it was gone. Picking it up, I placed it on her head.
*
Lexi's hat fell three more times before we reached the bus stop and she stopped singing.
The bus usually comes every three hours starting at four and it was almost ten, so we were a few minutes early. There were two old women, four middle-aged women, three boys who looked my age and a homeless man who was sleeping on the bus stop bench. Rolling my eyes, I stopped five feet from the stop.
