Calla Lilly Everwood: The Fire and Flame(hunger games story)

The train

I walk to the train station with Katniss, Cato, Finnick, Haymitch, Brant and Gale by my side. I take one last look at my home that I won't see for the next week or so. Haymitch goes to the ticket booth for our tickets as we stand and wait for the train.
The crisp winter air blows through the train station, I get cold and wrap my arms around Gales waist trying to obtain some of his warmth. He gladly shares it and kisses me on the forehead. I look up at him and smile then say;
" I love you."
" I love you more." He says
"I love you most." I grin
"Not possible, I love you to the moon and back and thousand times after that." He smiles
"Fine you win!" I laugh
"that's right, I always win!" He smirks
I just laugh and hug him again, finally the train arrives and we board it.
As we get on the train I stare at the room in awe. The main car is decorated with light blue walls with silver trim,hard wood floors, and a beautiful mahogany dining table. I become even more impressed when I go look at the bedrooms with Gale, Cato and Katniss. The rooms are huge with a king size bed that has blue and white pillows and a white bed spread. There's a bathroom with an awesome shower as well. I think I could get used to this... We all choose our rooms and I decide to take a shower.
I strip down and turn the water on playing with the buttons when I get in, I end up choosing sweet pea body jell and a lavender and vanilla shampoo. When I get out and dry off I brush out my hair and leave it down to dry. I head back into my room and dress in baggy sweat pants and a loose shirt, then head to the dining cart.
As I enter the room I see everyone is seated around the table. I look and see the only spot open is between Cato and Finnick... Oh boy. I sit down and smile at Gale who is directly in front of me. We eat dinner in silence and then all head off to bed. I crawl into bed and snuggle up, as I'm about to fall asleep my door opens and Gale enters the room.
I immediately smile and reach out my arms for him. He smirks and tackles me on the bed, wrapping his arms around me and kissing me passionately. When we break away we both smile at each other, and start laughing for no reason. When we stop he says, " Your gorgeous, Lilly." I smile and reply with " And you Mr. Hawthorne are very sexy." I grin.
I rest my head on his chest and he buries his face into my neck. After a while he goes to his room.
I lay there thinking about everything that has happened in the past month and finally fall asleep.
' I walk through my house in the seam, when I turn the corner I hear the door creek and evil laughter from up stairs, I have my bow in my hand as I silently trek up the stairs. When I go into moms room I scream, Nick, mom, Cato, Gale, Katniss, Finnick and Peeta all lay on the floor in a pool of their own blood.'
I jolt up from bed screaming, suddenly my door opens and Finnick and Cato walk in.
" Lilly, are you okay honey?" Finnick asks.
" Y-yeah just a B-bad d-dream." I stutter.
" Do you want to talk about it Lilly?" Cato asks softly.
" I g-guess i-it m-might h-help." I say shakily
I tell them about the dream and start sobbing all over again. They wrap their arms around me in a warm embrace. I look up at them and smile slightly and say," thanks guys."
" No problem Lilly." they say simultaneously and get up and head towards the door. I speak up quickly and say " Can one of you stay, please?"
" I'll stay if you want me too?" Cato says I nod my head, and he walks over and sits on the bed.
" You can lay down, Cato I don't bite you know." I laugh
"Okay, and that's a lie you do bite!" He retorts.
"Oh, just lay down smart ass!" I say
He lays down and I lay there trying to fall asleep. I get a shiver and curl in closer to Cato and absorb his warmth, he lays an arm over me and pulls me closer to him. I look up and see him starring down at me, I smile at him.
He inhales and lets out a deep breath, and then says," sometimes I wish that you were still mine Lilly, I don't understand why we broke up."
" You know why Cato, it was nice while it lasted and I really liked you then, and thought we would last longer than we did. But in the end it was better we didn't stay together, I didn't want to loose you as a friend." I say softly.
" I know your right, I just wish you weren't, I love you Lilly and I always will." He says truthfully.
" I love you too Cato, but as a brother and best friend. I know that may not be enough for you but, I'm with Gale and I really do love him. I hope you understand and you won't hate me for it." I say silently.
" I could never hate you Lilly." He says
" Good, it would kill me if you did." I reply
He yawns and his eyes get heavy," good night Lilly." He smiles sleepily
" Good night Cato." I say
I fall asleep quickly and have sweet dreams of the future, everyone is happy and healthy in a world with no Hunger games. Everyone I love is there, including mom and nick and this warms my heart.

I stir as the early morning light comes in through the windows. I'm about to open my eyes when the door opens, I feel Cato shift and face forward toward the door. The person at the door finally speaks.


" What are you doing in bed with her Cato?" The person says I recognize it as Gale, shit.
" It's not what you think dude, she had a nightmare. Finnick and I heard her scream and came to check up on her. She told us about it and we comforted her and as we were about to leave she asked if one of us would stay with her. I offered to and she said I could lay down so I did." He explains.
" She asked you to stay?" Gale says suspiciously.
"Yes, I would never do that to you man, I know she's yours, I just wish she was still mine. But that's in the past and I'm good with just being her friend." Cato says truthfully
" Thanks for the honesty Cato." Gale says.
" Your welcome, Gale." He says
I choose now to 'wake up' and start to stretch and open my eyes and see Gale and Cato looking at me, I smile and say " morning boys!"
" Good morning gorgeous!" Gale says
" Morning beautiful." Cato says
" Wow the day just started and I already got two nice compliments, even though I look like shit right now!" I laugh
They both smile and chuckle. I get up out of bed. I hug Gale and give him a good morning kiss.Then give Cato a hug, and go take a shower.
After I get out of the shower I go eat breakfast and spend time with everyone playing games and watching tv. It was a good day and everyone is tired so we all go to bed and rest up, as for tomorrow we arrive in the Capitol.
