Every compliment makes you
Giggle and smile
You want to hold onto every word
You trick yourself into believing
That you're the only important thing in their life
When they barely even know who you are
Or maybe they hold the door for you and let you walk in before them
Or they accidentally touch your hand
And your heart swells and it
Feels like you're floating
But honestly
What the fuck man
You don't even know who they are
They don't know who you are
Why do you fall in love effortlessly
With strangers
Who don't even care that you exist
If they didn't hold that door for you
Or accidentally brushed up against you
Their lives would have been the same
And so would yours
It's funny how we fall in love with absolute strangers
Just by looking at them
But we don't even know if we really love
The ones that we're supposed to love
We lay in bed at night and think about the stranger who made our day brighter
By holding the door for us
And then we cry over someone we're supposed to be over
It's because you don't know
How that stranger that held the door is
So you spend time thinking of scenarios in your head
Thinking about talking the person
And going on a walk with that person
And eventually holding hands with that person
And then you remember you had that with someone
And so you try to replace the other one with the stranger
To remember those moments
Without wanting to throw up
Because you know that those memories
Will always be somewhere inside of you
No matter how long it's been
The memories remain
And the more and more strangers you fall in love with
The less and less you remember the one you're trying to forget abouts face
So keep falling in love with strangers
Everywhere you go
At every place
