Sorry for the long wait! It's the last week of school and I've been busy!
I rode on Finn's back until we got to the mall. I forced him to go into Pacsun with me, but I promised that we would go see a movie afterwards.
"How does this look?" I asked as I turned around holding a camouflage muscle t-shirt. He turned around and moved his hand.'
"It looks a little manly." I heard a little giggle from across the store and saw some girls only two years younger than us, maybe around Molly and Jake's age. They looked at Finn and were giggling. I nudged his arm and he looked up from his phone and I nodded my head towards them.
He glanced at them and brushed it off. I then smacked his arm. "What the hell?" He almost yelled at me.
"You barely glanced at those girls. What is going on?" I asked him as I looked at the swimsuits.
He shoved his hands in his pockets and looked down. "I'm just not interested in them." I looked at him and his face told me that he wasn't lying but his eyes held a look that I can't decipher.
"Ok." I said wearily. I picked up a couple bikini's. "Ok this is my last try on, then we can go see a movie. Deal?" He nodded his head as he followed me to the dressing room.
He sat in one of the chairs along with another guy around our age. I locked myself in the dressing room and changed into the first one. It reminded me of swimsuit photos from the 1960's. I walked out of the dressing room to ask for Finn's opinion. He was talking with the other guy and when I walked in he stopped.
"Woah, that looks...nice." I furrowed my eyebrows and swatted his arm. "Ow that's the third time today!"
"That's all." I started to mimic his voice "That's nice." I frowned. "I'm getting it, now let's go see the new Captain America movie."
As I walked away I heard that other guy say to Finn 'She's a keeper'. I don't know why, but I smiled.
-
"So who was that guy you were talking with in Pacsun." I asked as we exited the mall and walked down the sidewalk.
"Just a random guy. Why?" He turned his head to me.
"No reason." I said taking the final sip of my drink "Can't a girl wonder?"
He shook his head as we walked down the sidewalk. The sun beams suppressed in my skin making me feel hot.
We walked in silence and we finally arrived at the theatre which was nice. We got two tickets and the movie was amazing!
We then went back to my place and that's when things started to get real.
"Knock knock, I'm home." I said as me and Finn entered the apartment, but the lights were off, so Luke was either sleeping or not home.
I found a note on the fridge saying that he went out so I threw it out. "So, what do you want to do?" I asked Finn.
"I don't know. Let me check out your room though." I smiled and walked down the hall.
"Abracadabra!" My room was bland but I was proud of it.
"Nice. A little simple but nice." He sat on the bed and then the power went out.
"Shit." We said at the same time. "I'll check it out." Finn said as he got up to go check it out. He came back five minutes later. "I can't fix it. But the complex is out." I sighed and got up.
"Might as well burn some candles." If you were to look at the apartment right now it would feel like a campfire from all the candles we were burning.
Me and Finn sat on my bed as we told each other stories and reminisced our childhood. I leaned my head on his shoulder and started to hum to his favorite song.
"If you ever forget how much you mean to me, I'll remind you." I sang to him and he looked down at me and smiled. The window of my room brought in a crisp air and the scent of all the candles came at me. It smelled like summer and cookies.
"I can count on you like four, three, two." I sang.
He looked at me and smiled even more. "I'm gonna sing that for you at your wedding." I held up my pinkie. "That's a promise." I gave him a hug and smiled.
"You do know you're my best friend." I got out of his strong grip and held his hands. Finn lifted his head and nodded.
"And I will sing your favorite song at your wedding." He gave me a big grin.
I brushed that off. "Who's gonna love this ugly face?" I said looking down.
"Many people." I looked up with tears forming in my eyes.
I locked eyes with him. His brown eyes stared into my brown ones.
Next thing I know we're kissing, and the kissing turned into something else.
I lied in my bed staring at the ceiling. My body frozen from what I had just done.
I turned my head to the left of me and Finn was doing the same. I then looked away and I heard him shuffle to get out of bed.
I watched him leave and cried when I heard the slam of the front door.
