ERIC

I smiled down at Prim who was sitting on the living room carpet watching TV. She turned back at me and tilted her head, "interesting..." She said in her high voice, then held her chin in between her thumb and forefinger.

"What is?" I asked. She smiled, turning back around. 

I was completely lost. I wasn't sure if I'd say something or maybe...

Am I breathing too loud? Is it-

"Interesting..." I hear a voice say, and my eyes shoot up to the TV screen. 

"Oh... Little Bear," I laughed, realizing she was copying one of her favourite cartoon characters. "Primrose?" I called.

"Yes?" She responded, her attention still on the television.

"Did you finish your French?"

"Eric," I heard the smile in Valerie's voice.

"Yes?" I responded, turning to see her. She came and sat beside me on the couch.

"You have to ask her en francais..." she looked down at Prim, "as-tu terminé ton travail français?"

"Oui mama!"

"Mais, as-tu regarde t'emission francaise?"

"...Je regardais une emission maintenent." Prim said.

"Tres bien, mais tu as regardes ca en francais  demain. Ok?"

"Okay. Merci."

"Sorry, I got a call from Monica," she said, sighing.

"What about?" I asked.

"She thinks some guy is cheating on his wife."

I laughed, "what does that have to do with you?"

"She wants me to help her investigate."

"I see..."

She looked at me and smiled, "I think he's a great husband. There's no way he'd cheat on her."

"Are we talking about me or him-"

"Him, of course," she gave me a kiss before she got off the couch, "I'm gonna make a smoothie. Greek yogurt?"

She was acting a little weird; jumpy. And I wanted to know why. But, instead of asking about it, I said instead,

"Sure."
