Twenty-Four

November 25th

Meek & I didn't come back to the house until almost 2 in the morning and I fell asleep once I hit the bed. I talked to my dad a couple minutes ago and I'm going at 6:30.

"Baby!", Meek yelled.

"Yes?"

"Come here."

I finished making my sandwich then walked in the living room and sat down beside him.

"I found out why everybody was staring at you yesterday."

"Why? I'm a human just like everybody."

"They haven't seen you before. I had to lie and tell them you were my cousin cause I have some family members who are cops and they will snitch."

"Dang. That's not very family like."

"Yeah I know. That's why I was outside and in my room yesterday. Going to be like that today too. I might go with you to your dads."

I stopped eating my sandwich then looked at him like he was crazy.

"Why you looking at me like that? I can't?"

"No. Hell no. Cause someone's going to make you mad most likely and you're going to say something that'll get both of us in trouble.", I said and he nodded.

"You right. I'll just go come back here."

"That's not what you're doing. You're going to be with your family Meek."

"Aight. Fine. I'll be there with all them fake ass people. Don't surprised if you get a collect call."

He started laughing and I playfully hit his arm.

"Can you be good for me please?", I asked.

"Yeah. I'll do it. Only for you and my mom though."

I nodded and kissed him.

"I love you."

"I love you too. My cute little annoying baby.

4 Hours Later

"Nice to see you two here. Almost 3 hours late.", Kathy said.

"I had somethings to take care of.", I said and she nodded.

We walked in the house and there were more people than yesterday.

"Fuck this shit. I'm about to be to myself all day. This too many people ma.", Meek said.

"Most of them just came to see you. Didn't bother to ask how ma was doing. The first question was "Where's Meek.", Na said.

"Damn shame. I know how to make them go away."

I saw him walk away but I grabbed his arm and he looked back at me.

"No Meek. I don't want no drama happening today.", I said.

I rubbed the side of his face and he nodded. I looked around and saw a guy staring at me. I looked up at Meek and saw them both staring.

"Let me go see what this mans problem is."

"No. Stay away from him. Is he a police officer?"

"Who Jonathan? Yes.", Kathy said.

"Oh great. That's just great.", Na said.

"How about you guys go upstairs and when it's time to get food, we'll call you guys down."

"Sounds like a good idea cause I'll probably end up hurting somebody."
