January 3rd

Atlanta, GA

Robert "Meek" Williams

I pulled up to the school and looked over at Nic in the passenger side.

"You wanna go in with me? It'll be quick."

"I'm good here. I don't want everybody looking at me.", she said lowly.

"Babygirl it's not your fault."

She nodded and tears started rolling down her face. I pulled her over to me and she covered her face.

"Look at me Nic."

She shook her head and I pulled her hands down.

"It's not your fault. You're okay baby."

"I need to move before you get in trouble again.", she whispered.

She moved and I pulled her back down but she moved my hands and went back to the seat.

"I'll be back, alright?"

She nodded and I sighed. I got out and walked in the school.

"Meek!", the students yelled.

They all hugged me and I smiled.

"Y'all doing alright?"

"Yes, we just miss you.", a student said.

"We're undefeated!", Dante yelled.

"That's wassup!"

I talked to them a little longer then went in the assistant principal's office.

"Good morning.", she said.

I closed the door and sat down in a chair. She took off her glasses and looked at me.

"Long time no see Meek."

I chuckled and nodded.

"Yeah, I know. I've been laying low."

"I see. How's Nicki taking it?"

"Hard. She blaming herself. She been distant too."

"Did she come with you or stayed at your house?"

"Nah she came. Didn't want to come in though.", I said and she nodded.

"I understand. You coming back or you leaving?"

"Nic going to college soon, I want to focus on her for a bit. Maybe I'll come back next school year, maybe not."

"Whatever you choose, I'll still support you."

I talked to her for a little bit then we heard the kids yelling Nicki. We walked out the office and I saw Nicki walking in, smiling. They ran over to her and she gave them hugs.

"I haven't seen her smile in forever."

"Give her time Meek. She'll be back to her normal self soon."

I looked at the time and saw it was time for me to drop her off.

"I already cleaned out my office so I'll stop by whenever."

"Alright. Be safe.", she said and I nodded.

"Nic! Come on."

She said bye to the kids and walked in front of me to the car.

"You good?", I asked and she shook her head.

We got in the car and she laid her head on the window.
