Twenty-Five

Robert "Meek" Williams

"Come on Nicki. It's 5:45."

"I'm not supposed to be there until 6:30."

"Yeah but people are traveling and I have to pick up Chris and Trey so come on."

"You're no fun. Let me go say bye to your mom first."

I nodded and walked outside and leaned up against the car and heard someone say something.

"I don't know what's up with you two but I will find out.", Jonathan said.

"Man get the fuck away from me. Thought yo ass learned the first time."

"Jonathan leave. You will not disrespect my son on my property. Especially not when you have a gun.", Kathy said.

I watched him walk away from me but he kept a stare on me.

"You heard her. Go somewhere before I dos some more damage."

Nicki stood beside me and rubbed my arm to calm me down.

"Come on Meek. It's time to go.", Nicki said and I nodded.

I opened the door for her so she could get in then went on the other side and got in.

"I might kick it with you at your dads'. I just need to chill for right now."

I pulled off and started driving to her dads.

"No you need to pick up the boys then go home and relax. Take advantage of this break cause once schools starts, you're back to being the principal and being a football coach."

"Yeah I know. Watch out for that Ashley girl too."

"I know Meek. You told me that earlier. Changing the topic, I really enjoy being around your mom."

I stopped at a red light and looked at her.

"Really?", I asked and she nodded.

"Well when I go out of town then I'll send you over there."

"Yay. I hate being in that house by myself. Smile Meek."

I looked over at her and saw she was trying to take picture but I put my hand out and she started laughing.

"Please Meek? For me?"

She looked at me smiling which made me smile and she took the picture.

"I actually like this picture. You're actually looking at it for once.", she said and I laughed.

I pulled up to her dads house and just listened to Chris and Trey arguing in the backseat.

"When will they shut the fuck up.", Nicki said.

"Aye. Get out my car.", I said.

We all got out and I walked behind Nicki to the door and knocked.

"I just hope he decides not to be anything cause I'm armed."

She hit my arm and I kissed her cheek and watched her blush.

"Ah. Onika. You're here. I was about to worry that you weren't coming.", Robert said.

"Yeah. We had to wait for these two to get ready.", she said.
