Twenty-Seven

I pulled up to my mom's house and got out and knocked on the door. Na opened the door and I walked in.

"Where Nicki at?", Na asked.

"Back at the house. Where ma?"

"Upstairs in her room.", she said and I nodded.

I took my slides off and went upstairs and walked in my mom's room.

"That's odd.", Kathy said.

"What?", I asked.

"Second day in a row that you've came over."

I laughed and sat on her bed and she sat down beside me.

"What's going on Meek?"

"Almost got caught today."

"What you mean almost got caught? Nicki?", Na asked and I nodded.

I put my head down and ran my head over my face.

"What happened?", Kathy said.

~Flashback~

Nicki got off me and we saw Ashley standing there.

"What was that?", she asked.

I watched Nicki walk up to her and they stared at each other.

"So we're just going to ignore the fact that they are standing face to face and that Nicki might punch her?", Chris asked.

I looked at Nicki's hands and they were balled up into fists.

"Ashley, I recommend that you leave.", Trey said and she shook her head.

"Ashley, I'm going to have to ask you to leave.", I said and she looked at me.

"She doesn't scare me. If she happens to touch me, I'm going straight to the police. Got it?"

"Yes. Now get it."

We watched her walk out and Nicki plopped down on the couch.

"You know who that looks like?", Nicki asked.

"Who?", I asked.

"She looks like Jonathan."

"Great.", Trey said.

~Flashback Over~

"I'm pretty sure she's related to that assistant principal that keeps stalking her.", Na said.

"I'm thinking the same thing."

"Well you have two options. You could homeschool her or switch her to another school.", Kathy said.

"Can't do that. I have to have my eye on her at all times."

"There's another option but you're going to say no.", Na said.

"What is it?"

"Stay away from each other until you're off school grounds."

"Hell nah. That's not happening."

"Exactly. You need to be more careful Meek.", Kathy said.

"I know ma. She's been distant from me ever since it happened.
