Chapter 22 - Goodbyes

WARNING!!! Major sadness in this chapter! And I apologize in advice!   

Killian POV 

I awoke to the sound of my phone ringing, I looked at the clock to see it was only 1am. "Hello?" I answered as Emma began to stir "Killian! It's Dr Whale there has been an fire, I need you at the hospital right now! And bring Miss Swan!" What? A fire? Where? And how did he know Emma was here? I quickly pulled myself together "Umm Ok." I answered confused as I was still half asleep. "Just hurry" Dr Whale said ending the call. "Emma, love you need to wake up" I saying trying to stay calm "I'm going to get Conor up, be ready when I come back" She nodded and started getting out of bed as she rubbed her sleep out of her eyes.

After getting Conor up the 3 of us headed to the hospital where I told Emma there had been a fire. I could see she was fighting back tears. Once there we run in to see Liam and Elsa still in their wedding attire and Liam crying on the ground, I ran over holding my brother tightly in my arms, something terrible must of happen for Liam is cry like this. 

"Liam what's happened?" I shyly say trying not to cry myself. Liam slowly look up his eyes looking dead straight at Emma. "He's gone!" My heart felt like it was going to break "Who?" I ask knowing the answer. "David" Elsa simply said coming down embarrassing her husband as I let got trying to get me footing as I got up.  

Emma POV

Killian got up from his spot next to Liam stumbling as he did, slowly he walked towards Conor & I with he's head down and just wrapped his arms around us as tears fell to the ground. "Killian?" I felt the tears begin to well up in my eyes, scared of what he was going to say. "Emma, your father" there was a long pause "He's gone" Killian got out between his cries. My whole body become limp, this couldn't be happening! NO! I felt Killian arms holding my up pulling me into a tight hug, I couldn't even cry as shock take over .

"Miss Swan?" I looked to see Dr Whale his head low just as everyone else. "Your father" I cut him off "IS DEAD AND NEVER COMING BACK!!" I screamed pulling out of Killian embrace falling to the floor as the tears I didn't know I was holding back fell to the ground. Conor came over a just hugged me, somehow this kid made me fell safe and calm. But I had been so wrapped up in my father death I didn't even relies "WAIT!! Where is my mother!" I said "She is in surgery right now, she was burnt pretty bad and is fighting to breath. I will keep you updated." Dr Whale said then walked off.

We all sat in silents, Killian had his arms wrapped around me giving sweet kisses on my head trying to sooth the pain. It didn't feel real he couldn't be gone and I could still lose my mother. After what felt like a life time Dr Whale come out "She isn't doing great, but there isn't much more we can do right now. Mary Margaret needs to rest before her next surgery but that if she makes in though the night. Emma, she is awake now if you wish to see her and say your goodbyes just in case"

"Can Killian come with me?" I ask holding on tightly to Killian's hand, Dr Whale simply nodded and showed us to her room. I walk in to see my mother's body all bandaged up, only being able to see her eyes. "Mum?" I say with a shaky voice as sit beside her and Killian stond on her other side holding her hand.

"Emma?" Mum said in a soft tune "Where's David?" My heart broke, she didn't even know he was gone. I had a massive lump in the throat I cleared it then spoke "He didn't make it mum" I say bursting into tears again but mum didn't even finch, she actually smiled at looked that Killian"Look after her, keep my baby safe" then mum shut her eyes.

Beep....Beep....Beep

Author POV

Emma spend the rest of her birthday crying into Killian chest as they lay in bed, not only had Emma lost her parents so lost her home with all her memories of them. As time went one Emma heart become dark, she didn't care about anything yelling at Killian nearly everyday. Killian knew deep down Emma was just hurt but one day he couldn't take it anymore, she had taken her new found attitude to far. 

"I hate you!! I never even loved you!"

Those words cut deeper then a knife and Killian lost his cool. "Well! If you hate me so much why don't you just leave!" Those were the last words Killian Jones spoke to the women he loved so much. Sweet beautiful Emma Swan that he once knew was gone. She drop out of school with only a month left and left Storybrooke behind and headed to New York to start a new life. And try and run from her feelings and her pain.
