michael woke up the next morning confused and warm. next to him was a pretty boy and on top of his chest were peach and plum. luke's legs were intertwined with michael's under the blanket and light was streaming in through his blinds. the blanket around the boys had fallen to their waists sometime during the night, leaving their clothed torsos open to the air. luke was laying on his stomach and had his face buried in michael's shoulder. the position was quite comfortable apparently. michael grabbed his phone from the floor, looking at the time. 7:15. way too early to function.luke shuffled around in his sleep, burying his face deeper into the black haired boys shoulder. peach opened one of her eyes and glared at the blond. then she yawned and stretched, waking up plum. the two cats then got up from michaels chest and jumped down from the low bed, going to the kitchen for food. michael looked over at luke's body, noticing that his shirt had ridden up during the night above his boxers. a large, dark bruise was on his hip, disappearing under his waistband. several smaller bruises surrounded it.
"luke? lu?" he nudged luke's sleeping form lightly, trying to wake the blond, "bub, i'm hungry. do you want pancakes?"
the boy grunted in his slumber and draped an arm over michael. the arm tightened, essentially trapping him.
"ba-bub. please, i need to get up." luke groaned and pressed his body closer to michaels.
"if you move, i'm gonna freeze. you're really warm." luke's words were muffled by the shorter boys shoulder, but michael got the message.
"luke, do you want pancakes? and could you please let me up?" luke moved his head from michaels shoulder and blinked open his eyes.
"yes. and no. what time is it?" the dazed boy looked around the room, squinting at the sunlight.
"almost 7:30? you need to shower. seriously. you smell like a bum."
luke smiled up at the other boy, "you're no florist shop either."
"oh shove off!" michael started laughing, and pushed luke's shoulder, causing the other boy to laugh too.
"okay fine. i'll let you go. on one condition. while i shower, you make me pancakes."
"deal. do you want chocolate chips?"
"yeah, of course." luke removed his arm from michaels torso and sat up, rubbing his eyes.
michael smiled at the still sleepy blond and got up from his bed. the light from his windows illuminated the blond perfectly, making him look like an angel. walking to his dresser, michael pulled his own pants up a bit and grabbed luke's discarded pajama pants, throwing them at the stretching boy. they hit luke square in the face.
"hey!" luke yelled at michael, "do you have any spare clothes for me possibly? like boxers, and a shirt?"
"oh. yeah. go ahead and pick something, i'm gonna start on breakfast. the bathroom's down the hall, the door on the left. make sure you close the door or the cats will get in there with you."
while luke showered, michael was in his kitchen feeding his cats, takimg his meds, watering his plants, and making breakfast for him and luke. roughly twenty minutes later luke walked out of the bathroom, dressed, with wet hair. he sat down at michaels small breakfast bar and reached for a plate.
"not so fast blondie. we're going to talk about last night while we eat."
"michael."
"nope. why did you get drunk and come here last night?"
luke glared at the other boy, but sighed and spoke, "first off, i was avoiding you because reasons. my parents wanted me to focus on these last couple weeks of school and i was coming to terms with something and didn't want to talk about it with you at the time. now that i think about it, it was stupid of me to ignore you but i can't change that now. secondly, i went to the party because i was bored. i knew you said i could come here if i wanted to and i did. can i eat now?"
