The Perfect Summer Can't Last Forever

Chapter 10

Recap:

"Ok here this is Oliver. He used to go to my school but transfered out last year. He fell in love with me. I rejected him."

Oliver and Alex walked up to eachother and looked like they were going to kill eachother. I stepped in between them and that was a mistake. I got punched in the face by Alex. I fell to the ground and blacked out.

Rose's POV

I slowly opened my eyes. I was in so much pain. I wasn't sure what happened. When I opened my eyes I was blinded by the sunlight that was entering the room. Then I heard a voice. "Guys' she is awake!"The voice sounded very familliar. Then the room started getting more and more crowded with people. My entire family came in and Alex came in too.

"Baby, I was so worried about you! I am so sorry that I punched you. It'll never happen again I promise."

"It's ok" I said smiling weakly at him. He leaned in and kissed me.

"How long have I been out?" I muttered.

"Two days" Alex said as he intertwined our fingers together.

"Oh wow." I said shocked.

I got to feeling a lot more like myself in the past few days. Tomorrow I was going to start school. I had to make a last minute shopping trip to grab school supplies.

Alex seemed to be more distant when it came to be a week before school started. I'm not sure why. I called him multiple times but I just got his voicemail. He must be having problems with his wife or daughter.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when arms wrapped around me. I knew it wasn't Alex so I turned around. My eyes met with some light blue eyes. It was my best friend. I hugged her back.

"Rose we haven't talked all summer so I thought I'd stop by before school starts."

"Hey Bree. I'm so sorry we haven't talked recently I have been sooo busy and I have a boyfriend and stuff."

"OMG you have to tell me all the deats!"

"Alright I will but not here. Let's go somewhere amazing. Here take these clothes and change. Meet me down by the stables." I grabbed some jeans and a button down shirt and my cowgirl hat and boots. I ran to another bathroom and changed super fast.

I got down to the barn and grabbed to bright pink halters. Then I went out into the pasture.

"DJ, River" I called then clucked. The two horses came loping to me. River is a black quarter horse with a star on his head. DJ is a brown paint that never developed spots. I put both the harters on the horses and took the lead ropes and lead them back into the barn. Bree was waiting for me.

"Dude your horses are gorgeous but I don't really know how to ride."

"Then I'll teach you." I went throught how to groom and tack. She is riding River and I am riding DJ. I gave her my new barrel saddle and I am just riding liberty. We walked to the arena leaving the doors open and we led the horses to the mounting block.

"Ok Bree get on the left side and put your left foot in the left stirrup then swing your way up there." She did as I said then I tightened her cinch. "Ok I'm gonna get on now. and then I will show and tell you what to do." I jumped on DJ's back and got myself situated.

"Now give him a squeeze and if he doesn't listen give him a tap with your legs. If he still doesn't respond kick him. Pull the left rein to go left and the right rein to go right. Pull back on em if you need to stop him." I got DJ going and we went into a pasture with both horses.

We took a very beautiful trail up to thr end of the land. By now the sun setting it made for a super pretty picture.

"This is it." I said.

"Wow this is gorgeous. So you want to tell me thr details missy?"

"Alright alright. So I met this guy......"

Sorry I haven't updated in forever!! Y'all have no idea how busy I have been omg! Fall break coming in two weeks I'll try and update then and maybe sooner!!
